Saw this car on Ebay this morning and thought that for $12,500 you could get that for the parts!

It actually looks to be in pretty good shape for having 140,000 miles on it.
The digital climate displays have died though and the fake wood on the center console is well past it's prime. Might be hiding more damage.

Car seems to be a great deal if everything checks out.
Woodgrain, Alpine stereo, DSP option(defeated by the Alpine), Tequipment tips, etc... Not bad...
Tiptronic...bad...

A lot of hatred here for Tiptronics. Just curious, how many have actually taken a Tip 996 out for a spirited drive? (in manual mode)

Tips drive fine, My Cayenne is a Tip but when it come down to it like many other here I just enjoy the interaction of a manual trans more.
I have driven PDK cars and it's awesome! but still manual for me.

I play hard with my Tip all the time. It may not be as much fun as a stick but its good enough for me and my leg dont get tired in bad traffic. It also keeps my right hand free when my beautiful blonde co-pilot is on board so I can shift her gears

A good polish on the outside plus $30 worth of DI-NOC on the inside would fix nearly all of the cosmetic issues. If it's mechanically sound, that's a sweet car for the $$.
A GOOD driver with good two-pedal skills can demolish most of us with a tip. The tip is no slushbox compared to a lot of the autos out there...that said, I prefer manual, more for nostalgia than any legitimate reason.

The Tip is probably why the BIN price seems low but the real ACV of the car is closer to $7500 as is. JMHO but I prefer the manual even if I owned a newer 997. The Tip is still just a "slushbox" with poor feel.

Is that from direct experience with a Tiptronic 996?
As a rule, the non-handicap 996 owners seems to prefer the manual by at least 20:1 or more. OMG not another poll?
