thanks - your obviously a fan of some color

yup it's a GT3 seat - one of 2 sitting in a warehouse in Germany so I ordered the drivers seat only and kept a "comfy" passenger seat...

I also have a 5 point harness that isn't shown in the pic.. belts are hidden away for daily use - makes a huge diff on the track IMHO

So what did you decide? Silver on Red would be slick.

Keep us posted.

Oh, and TBred911, if the "... Troll" comment was in response to my earlier post, I think you misread. I was simply saying (or trying to say) that red interiors were cool and I'd change places with the OP in a New York Minute!

If not directed at me, then never mind. These things can be hard to read/follow.

Nevertheless, the red interior of your Boxster looks sweet too.

Take it easy,

JKC

FYI, a black metallic '99 cab with red interior just sold at the Mecum auction at Kissimmee. Live on Velocity.

Looked pretty good!

I'll bet. Whenever I go onto Porsche's site, I plug in black cars (Cayman and the current "... 911") with black exterior and red interior and man, they look awesome. I am betting Silver/Red looks cool too... And, Dark Green over Red. Never really liked Silver over Tan... Which is supposed to be classic too.

I swear, if I had the money, I'd get my interior in that Carrera Red... The one that has just a little bit of pink in it. Under Black... Really cool.

Well, looks good. I've always like the 996/Boxster interior better than the 997s and on. In fact, it'd be cool to have a Cayman with that style.

I'm starting to maybe look for a 996 and I love grey or silver over red. I have heard that the red fades a bit and everything fades at a different rate. Anyone have any experience in this regard?

All the ones I've seen remind me of Campbell's tomato soup. It's not that deep red you see on BMW's or Mercs.

It doesn't really if you take care of it. I have a beautiful 996 for sale with Boxster red leather interior and a matching gt3 seat that was I stalled many years later and its a perfect match. My car is for sale and if you pm me your email I can send you lots of pics and details.

Cheers

It seems to me that the Porsche red interior does not age especially well - the older cars I've seen in person with red interiors have faded to be more salmon/pink, which looks terrible IMO. I wouldn't buy a car with a red interior, so that's one vote for "harder to resell."
