Default ECU flash RoW software '99-'01

Anyone who has flashed their US '99-'01 3.4 with RoW software?
Any issues? The RoW software should not trigger the CEL as much as the RoW software.

Do you have any fault codes after the flash?

I am curious to hear who did that mod as well and how it is done ?

can you do the flash by simply plugging a laptop to the obdii ? or you have to send the ecu and replace it ?

Once you have your cars programming codes from a dealer it can be done in the car with PST2 or PWIS

EU software is designed for 98 octane.
I have the EU3 software (European Union) for my race car that only runs 100oct race gas.
I don't believe there is a "ROW" version.

If this is for a street car and you will not be running 100 oct gas. I would stick to the stock mapping.

For the '99-'01 3.4 using DME 5.2.2 it seems there is a RoW version, or am I mistaken?

If anyone is using the RoW or EU software in their US Porsches, have you come across any problems? Any fault codes?

I'm highly interested in this, but for a 996TT. The ROW cars (afaik) do not have smog pumps or secondary o2 sensors.

yes the RoW flashing would allow to remove the secondary air pump and the O2 sensor which fail all the time when you have cat bypass

No updates? Is Scott @ Softronic a 'lister? He'd be the guy with the answer (I'd imagine)

Depending in the model and model year there are more than 2 (USA/Canada and RoW) pre-defined programs. For example see the chart below..

And yes, there is a program that does not use the after cat sensors.
Note that some changes may require different cats to prevent damage (and emissions).
In the US these are only legal for racing purposes -- not street driving.

Europen octane rating and North American octane ratings are not the same thing. The EU 98 is about the same and the 94 we have here.

Also, why would the secondary O2 sensor fail faster with the catalytic removed?

Why doesn't someone just make an relay or something that manipulates the ECU to think that the smog pump is working, and then get a set of o2 spacers for the secondary sensors, or maybe a set of manipulators? Those are readily available.
If I find something out, I'll post up. I have a few 996's that need this done. Plus there are (from what I remember when doing a vacuum system upgrade) around 3 vacuum lines going to the smog pump and bits. 3 more places for a vacuum leak we don't need.
