Need Help Should I buy a 04 911 turbo Now or a C7 vette in a few months?

More guys comment on my 911, more ladies comment on my 'Vette (even young ones). I'm heterosexual and married, so neither one is especially important, but I thought I'd provide the stats.
IMO the C7s are going to go to older guys (the people who can pay list for the first couple of years) who are going to garage them between trips to the early bird buffet, so I'd grab a turbo now and find 2-year old C7 later.

Tough room.
My prejudice against vettes comes solely from driving/riding in my friend's '01 Euro-spec vette which, when a few months old, creaked and rattled worse than my 10 year old RX300 with 215k on the odo.
Apples v. Watermellons, I know and I really like what the C7 represents. You'll have fun with both.

I agree with getting back into a 911 now, and waiting to get the vet a few years old. I cannot ever bring myself to buy a new car, it makes very little sense to me espescially considering I do all (most) of my own maintenence anyway. For instance, my Wife's X5... when bought was only a few years old, has $25k in options, sticker was close to $70k if i remember correctly. Got it for about $30k with only 30k miles.
Base Corvettes depreciate pretty quick overall. I too have my eye on the C7, it seems to be an outstanding car and in certain colors is definitely sharp. If I do get one, it'd be after that big depreciation.

+1 on Penfed, they will finance regardless of age. You pay $20 or so to become a member, and then get a great car loan at a phenomenal rate. Also, if we are talking a new C7, aren't we in the 60-70kk range? 60k-70k should get you a better turbo than you are describing I would think...but either way you are right, you're going to get an older one with no warranty and old technology at best (nav, bluetooth, etc., etc.,)...I'm with the group on this one, buy the turbo now, drive it for 18-24 months until the market is flooding with C7's that are coming off lease, and then buy one of those as a CPO if that's really what you want for roughly 2/3rds of what you would be paying today.

Bill,
I had a Z51 7 speed manual Vette to play with for a while, had all the options. The Vette handles very well but does not give me the confidence that a 2wd 911 does, never mind the all wheel drive one. The feedback is not nearly as good as a Porsche.
But it sure was fun in the twisties. The C7 has a nice feel to it, solid and the interior is a huge step in the right direction. Funny thing about Vette's is when I drive one for a long period of time they start to wear on me. I can drive a Porsche all day.
MSRP was around 72K I think
As far as the stereo I never really bothered with it because the exhaust sound was amazing!

I do like the new Vette though. I'm very tempted to get a car with tons of low end torque and the Vette would scratch that itch perfectly. To get the most out of the 996 you need to really wring its neck(rev it past 5,000 RPM) which is tough to do on the street most of the time. OTOH, the Vette is making serious torque at low RPMs and is ready to rumble at normal street driving engine speeds. Marc, how did the C7 engine feel at low RPM?
