Default 996 headlight covers opinions please

Ok just looking for opinions I'm also waiting on a set of used amber headlights to use Fred's headlight HID conversion on ( don't want to mess up my current headlight just incase) and put these covers over. Probable will just get led turn signals somewhere kinda hidden but where the light can be seen.....

Where are the fog lights? Easily removable? I have seen something like these o eBay, but site said they had to be glued on. Kinda like the look, but don't want anything that is glued.
Did you have to paint them?

My opinion is that the headlights look great as they were designed and they should be left in their original form. Covering them up reminds me of a tall woman who wears flats because she's afraid that wearing heels makes her look too tall. Forget about worrying what other people think. The long legs of a tall woman look great in heels, just like the original design of the 996 headlights look great. Don't cover it up... Flaunt it!!!

^^ nope. Like Denis said...long legs etc etc...If you are going to do it go all the way with a 996 to 997 conversion kit or buy a 997

But hey, it's your car !

I agree with you as well I love the look of the 996 but I also like to customize my cars it kinda makes mine a little different. I don't think it looks like a 997 I'm trying an all black thing and I thing this kinda works. And like I said I'm going to use Fred's head light mod which in tails painting the inside of the head light I will add pictures of that mod

This is what I'm going to get its a kit a guy on here sells .... It goes with the all black theme they are aluminum and I would get mine in black or possibly silver.

Fog lights are covered...I used heavy duty double sided tape so the come off but you need to use dental floss then clean. They are painted yes they did an OK job and they are the ones off eBay....

I don't know customize is one thing, but I see a lot of 996 owners wanting it to look like something else, 997. I never thought the headlight of the 996 to be design problem with the car, I actually thought it was cool and different. What. I think the car lacks is curves, specially in the rear quarter panels.

As that song goes, I like big buts....

Keep the headlight original, I think looks better.

BAD ***. Don't like them. The whole car in my eyes scream 'young punk'... Prefer the original. incidentally I think the originals are the best of all Porsche lights. The rest are drab. 996 are 'class'. The originals scream 'Old Fart' haha.
