Hershey Swap Meet April 2014
Anyone planning on going? I live ~45 minutes away and am definitely going. If a bunch of people are going/are interested in meeting I'd be happy to organize something.

Went to the Hershey Swap Meet today with my dad. He’s not really a car guy but he agreed to come along. He enjoyed himself a lot more than I would have thought. Tooons of people showed up today; if this wasn’t their biggest turnout I’d be surprised. Great weather too.
Rennlist parking:
Here’s a few pics of the Porsche parking lots, just rows and rows of them:
A couple Carrera GTs were in attendance:
One car in the concours section made me twitch, see if you can figure out why:
Some random cars I liked:
The anti-Hurdi badging:
Fun with license plates:
My biggest fan:

Just got back from there ... drove down from NY yesterday to my folks' house near Reading. Went to the swap meet this morning. OK as a swap meet, lots of fun as a car show. Saw some cars there that I've only seen in pictures.
And the best part is, these are actually cars that people drive. How often are you sitting at a light and a beautifully restored 356 Speedster pulls up next to you? Very cool.

It's a concours. Look at how perfect my car is and judge me appropriately! Are my valve stem caps all twisted the same number of rotations? Is the glove box liner material authentic?

BTW, I really like the pic of the Orange MKI 997 GT3 RS. I'd love to pick up one of these someday, however I don't see the prices of these falling anytime in the foreseeable future(especially given all of the problems with the 991 GT3s).

I was on my phone and the bolded stickler didn’t come through on the app. I like your joke. {hug}
Some more pics:
The promised transam 914:
1968 window stickers showing a sales price of about $5,000 (not sure you can see it, but there are $15 and $20 options for a single loudspeaker and an antennae).
Because race car:
Another car that caught my eye:
I really enjoyed it and talking to some folks who love their cars was a lot of fun. The guys who salvaged my 99 (717 rebuildables) were there. It was oddly fun talking to them; like a walk down memory lane where the lane suddenly rolls over at high speed but somehow you are ok.
Final note: right after we parked we immediately stumbled on the first of the two Carrera GTs that I saw there today, and I immediately started taking pictures. I said to my dad, "no one is going to take pictures of mine, that's for sure." We walked around for a while and then as we were ready to leave I see a guy walking over to my car. He gives it the once over and then pulls out his phone and takes 3 or 4 pictures of it from various angles. I mean, I really like my car, but I was a little shocked that in a crowd of 1000 Porsches someone would give mine a second glance. So, that was cool.
