they also were the first with black windshield wipers and a padded dash...IIRC

I think (hope) they're working on it. I was there a few weeks ago and there was a link and if you clicked on it there was a message that said something to that effect. Now there's actually nothing...no mention at all. Seeing as the 996 is/was the transition to water cooled 911's, I would think it's too important a step in the evolution of Porsche's flagship and most recognizable model to omit.

Porsche was a member of the German **** party and the SS.

The Volkswagen plant was completed in 1938 after Italian labor was brought in. This workforce can be considered exploitative. Porsche joined the **** party on his own free will in 1937 . Volkswagen, under Ferdinand Porsche, profited from forced and slave labor. This would include a large number of Soviets. In the spring of 1945, 90% of Volkswagen’s workforce was non-German.

Yeah but after getting the butt handed to them by the Allies, spending some time in jail, and the Allies passing on their technology, they were allowed to restart a business.
