As much as I hate the endless/repetitive/un-researched threads on the same topics, I think I dislike strict moderation more...
Maybe we could just get in the habit of replying to such threads with our own pointer...
Something like this?

Now, what if the boobies are in self defense?
You know, for example, if KK makes another one of his famous posts along the lines of "hey, the 996 is a great car for an amateur mechanic because it's easy to work on, and you'll need to work on it yourself because there are so many parts that might fail on it that you cannot afford to take it to a professional mechanic."
KK lives in Texas, where I believe it is legal to use lethal force in defense of property. Let's say Dgjks6 also lives in Texas, and we all know (thanks to Schnell's "Signatures R Us" banner) that Dgjks6 is at the end of his rope with 996 bashers. Dgjks6 reckons (this is Texas we're talking about, so "reckons" is a proper verb) that lethal force is appropriate to stop KK from further maligning his 996 and posts that he's "a comin' after KK's no-good, dirty-rotten, yeller-bellied hide." When KK learns of Dgjks6's intentions, KK posts a witty repartee accompanied by a nice boobie pic that calms everyone's nerves and defuses the tense situation.
Would that be OK?

The fact that my idea was actually posted in another thread supports the OP's position in this thread!
But I'm with you guys in blaming the OP for getting us in trouble with the Mods. Nice job

They get to have boobies over on the 928 forum. https://rennlist.com/forums/928-foru...elete-274.html

Just my two cents, but a tech forum should be technical. I think the warning should be quickly followed with a the ban hammer if someone posts non technical posts. Otherwise what is the point of having a technical forum at all? The forum should be renamed to "general 996 forum" if the non technical stuff is going to be allowed to persist. Then it is at least an honest description of the forum and all is well in the world. As it currently stands now, Id say at least about a 50/50 on technical vs. OT/general 996 discussion.

To me it sounds like everyone is just driving their BMWs (Bitching / Moaning / Whining) - why not just greet uniformed posts with a helpful answer?
No need to humiliate the user, just give a few links to all the reading material they could ever want.
Yes, a mod could have a pre-formed post that they use each time with the appropriate info - and any forum members willing to help out can also yell out *First!* if you get to it before anyone else. Then, just let the post DIE - don't bother posting more or responding to other questions.
We were all n00bs once before this site gave us the vastly superior intelligence to anyone else just starting to look at 996s... :-P
