Default philosophical tech question: If a 996 falls in the forrest

should the owner DIY or take it to a dealer?

Or...do DIY owners have more technical problems than the mindless masses who simply take it to their dealer on schedule and never look back or wonder why?

And where does that put the non DIY who takes the car to the Indie every other week for an opinion on this noise or that?

Do 996 owners as an overall group suffer a high rate of automotive hypochondria?

We simply hope the car falls on the owner and the senseless obsession with self and car ends.

E. We have a great support system of DIY Tech Articles that seems to help keep the DIY'er afloat with their repairs.

Definitely E.

Is there a serious question here, or is this the John Ireland nonsense thread of the day?

Is it my nonsense of the day to avoid doing something-else because I'm stuck in my condo and surrounded by painters.

Normally I'd just go for a drive but this remodel stuff has been going on for a month and I'm losing it.

Thank you for your compassion.

I feel for you.......... That's why I do all of my own painting, it occupies my mind and serves as a creative outlet, but mostly because doing it myself saves money to use for other things, like donating to the local food bank and providing the nursing home my mother is in with uplifting spiritual reading material.

Try not to offer the painters any drink or smoke and they should be out of there in no time.

Along the same line of crazy questions is this. IF A MAN SPEAKS IN THE FOREST AND A WOMAN HEARS HIM, IS HE STILL WRONG?

In my experience, we are much more obsessed with fixing parts that aren't broken, albeit some of those may be entirely justified. I'm not sure hypochondria is involved if the party in question KNOWS there's no problem but chooses to fix it anyway.

Munchausen by proxy, maybe? Probably more commonly an affliction with C4S owners...*COUGH* KrazyK*COUGH*...
