Hey all,
Thought I would post some pics of my new(ish) '99 c2, I got her in May and I love it. I spent a few years restoring an old Datsun 240z, and have owned a BMW Z3 and a Nissan 370Z as previous toy cars.
I found this in Ottawa, previous owner managed to find most of the service history - IMS done when clutch was replaced, RMS done, regular maintenance. It has 75k kms on it and in good condition.
So far all I have done is torn out the stock stereo, speakers and amp and upgraded.
The paint was a bit swirly so I clay barred it, then did a 3 part cleaner, polish and wax. Heres a few pics.

Congrats You can tell it has been taken care of by a concerned owner. The stereo upgrade is sometimes necessary; however, I would consider selling or storing those 17" OEM wheels, and putting some nice aftermarket wheels either 18s or 19". Just a thought

Pics of pain after cleaning.
I really should have taken some before pics, but it was pretty swirly and looked like it had seen a few petro-can car washes. heres some close ups of after:

The drivers seat bolster was a bit worn, so I went and saw the guy at a shoe repair place and he re dyed it and fixed it up. After the shiny stuff wore off it matches well. Great fix for $30.00

Thanks! Before I made the trek to pick her up I got the option codes from the frunk. One of the codes said it had 18" turbo style wheels so I assumed they would be on the car. The PO isnt aware that the wheels had ever been changed so perhaps theres a discrepancy in what the option codes state and reality.

Welcome and congratulations! The work on the seat is pretty amazing and you did a great job with the paint. Enjoy!

Paint looks great! Need to do that to my 996.2 as she is a little swirly at the moment! As stated I would put some nice period correct optional wheels on the car (like the 18's that were originally on it). Oem can be found and there are aftermarket companies that make replicas. Another mod to consider, FisterD mufflers. It was the first thing I did to my car, and is held in high regard on this forum. Darin is a great guy to work with and the sound is GLORIOUS. Not overbearing but makes every drive special, and no drone. For $350 and a 1 hour install it is a deal that can't be beat. Other than that enjoy the hell out of it! They are great drivers, and I feel fortunate that I get to daily mine. In the 8 months I have owned it I have put on 15,000 miles!

Hey thanks! I've used alot of different products before but this drill attachment works wonders. I like it better than my 8" polisher, in fact I gave it to my neighbor.
http://www.meguiars.com/en/automotiv...-power-system/
But first I used mothers clay bar kit. Read the instructions. I dont use the spray bottle I used very soapy water and squeezed a sponge over it constantly as I clayed.
Then I used the meguires DA attachment (first on a cordless drill but it was too weak so I switched to an electric drill - about half power). I also bought the cleaning and polishing attachments. Normally I use Autoglym but these came with little bottles for each so I tried them out - they worked well.
For the waxing I really liked techwax on my 370z but it didnt shine as much on this flatter black paint, I switched after a small spot. I tried meguires black wax after reading some other forums and I really liked it. It really worked well.
Of course it took me about 6 hours and maybe 8 beers to get the job done but I loved every minute of it. The DA attachment did every curve of the car its the perfect size. I taped off the rear bumper guards and had to hand wax right under the mirrors and around the front bumper cut outs but it saved me so much time. I recommend it to anyone.
I'd be happy to outline the whole process if anyone is interested, but the technique and process are half the battle.

Do you or anyone have a video of the FisterD exhaust in action? I'd love to hear it. I had an awesome Amuse Titan on my Z and loved the subtle growl.
Cheers,
