Buzz-kill on selling a higher mileage 996...
Quick question I need some help with - I have a Canadian 996 with 202,000 Kms / 126,000 miles on the odometer I am selling for a PCA member. It drives so tight and fast that I NEVER think about the mileage. It's been meticulously well maintained but it's an instant buzz-kill when potential buyers hear the mileage. I've tried listing it with no mileage and that gets reaches but again, instant kill when they hear the mileage. Thoughts anyone? Thanks in advance...
Price:
$26,000 CNDs
$20,000 USDs
Price:
$26,000 CNDs
$20,000 USDs

Yeah. the mileage isn't the buzz kill, it's the price.
I was shopping for a 911 last year and at 26k, I'd be looking at C4S with turbo parts and wideboody in the 100k mark.
if you want to sell fast, that price is just too high IMO. I'm sure it could sell at 26k but the stars will need to align and the right buyer drives it and falls in love.

It's a 2000 with aero package:

It's advertised as a GT3, but it's not a GT3.
$20K US is too much for this car. I bought the same car with more options with 31K miles last year for $22K and I paid extra in my mind but bought it due to low mileage.
If you are getting no bites, that mean it's not priced correctly. Price it correctly and you will have a quick sale. I would price it at no more than $17K US.

I understand your predicament because I recently decided to sell my car because two years ago I had left knee replacement surgery. Initially there were no pain issues; however, about 6 months ago I began to feel pain in my left knee when using the clutch. The pain has gotten progressively worse. Finally made the decision to sell it and try and get me a tip (stay in the Porsche family), or maybe another 928. Sadly, my car has 151K miles and it scares the **** out of people. Buyers are afraid of high mileage cars despite the condition of the vehicle. If I sell my car cheaper, more money I have to come up with to get the tip I think that I finally got my car exactly where I want it both in performance and presentation

I paid $24 500CDN for an 02 C4S with 61k miles.
granted I should have paid a lot less considering the issues I now have.
just looking through trader.ca now and I see a lot of better deals than this. I believe that price needs to be in the 18-19k range.
don't shoot the messenger

Is this the same yellow aerokit that has been discussed a few times already? In BC, selling for a friend, high milage, sounds like it to me.
I seem to recall the last time it was discussed, the price was a sticking point. I think there was also something else that was brought up, but I don't recall what it was and I'm too lazy to try to dig up the thread.

With current 996 prices, I feel like the absolute max price someone will pay for a 3.4l car is 20k (usd). Drop it to 17.5 or 18 and see if you get any bites, or hold onto it for a while and enjoy!

I would lower the price closer to real market value for a C2. Even with the nice options, its still just a 2000 C2 to most buyers. Unfortunately all those high priced Porsche options in 2000 mean very little 15 years later. For a real downer, bring it to a local Porsche dealer and ask them what the ACV is for the car. You will be severely disappointed.
