OK to start car with headlight unit removed?
Just wondering if this will scramble something in the computer system. I want to drive the car to pick up the headlight after restoration.

You don't need no stinkin headlights
If the switch is off, they are effectively disconnected anyway
The only thing that might be effected is the turn signals. With no bulbs to load the flasher, it may flash fast on the rear lights

Good point - they will be off. I understand there is some mechanical motion inside the headlight when they are on high beam, but again that is moot if they aren't on.

Yes, Litronics. So many details play into the Q&A on these cars - thanks for adding your experience.

OK, electronic/computer issues scare me to death so I had to ask. And I installed the restored headlight in the car today AFTER it had been driven and no issues to report. All good. Thanks for the help RL.
PS I carried the headlight in the back of my Ford Expedition, in answer to another thread
