Default Bent rim causing slow tire leak?

When I had my car checked out I was told the rear rim had a small bend in the inside of the rim and it would at worse cause minor shaking at high speeds. However I think it may be causing a slow leak based on checking the pressure over the last couple weeks. Has anyone had this issue and had luck with getting the rim repaired, causing the leak to stop? Would rim bead sealer help at all? Thank you

Sure that it is not a crack? It would have to be a pretty bad bend to leak. The tire seals against the barrel of the rim on the inside of the tire not the tire edge against the rim lip.

Just buy a new/used rim. Rims never balance out 100% and/or retain their strength if you have to weld it or straighten it.

Yes it will, call good shops that have a road force balancer, tell them you want to have the wheel & tire inspected for impact damage & resealing the bead to the rim. If they say they recommend buying a replacement wheel before inspecting it call elsewhere. If it is cracked replace it.

fwiw on the Jeep I had a tire that always wanted to go flat. Tire shop said it was the rim (aluminum) getting old and leaking. So, after it really went flat I took it to another shop here and they found the tire was defective and leaking between the tread.

I'd have the whole works checked out at a good shop that's ideally used to working with low-profile tires.

I had bead seal leaks on both rear wheels. They are 3 piece wheels with the barrel being chrome. The chrome was flaking on the inside. I had a wheel shop fix them and they have been fine since
