Wink Introducing me and my love.... Starting the restoration

Hi guys i' m from italy.
My name is bongi.

Well since i was 6.... I'd like to buy a 911.
Yesterday i've bought a 125.000 km 996 convertibile.
She's wooooooooo, blue and tabacco interior.
There is only one problem.... Gearbox open cause she has the reverse and the first shift ko.
I'think i'll recive the car by a week to start the restoring.
Does someone of you have any idea?.
1 how to raise the car in safety?
2 how to procede with the Gearbox?

Thanks friends

When you remove the transmission check the IMS and replace it then.

Ciao bongi! Whereabouts in Italy are you from? If you need help with your 996 we have some great tech articles here (IMS DIY in there as well), as someone pointed out above. If you need anything please let me know!

You could try Hartech in the UK, they have designed their own, and they are a well trusted engineering company. I'd have one of theirs over an LN ceramic one.

That's great to hear. We do sell the IMS bearings here and ship to Italy if you don't find anything local to you.
