I am back
I can't stay away apparently
Bought a 2001 cab today. 84k miles. 6-speed. only option is the hard top.
just got a new set of tires and about 1500 in work done to it.
going to be a nice weekend car.
I can't get over how silent the car is after driving my Turbo with the Fabspeed exhaust!
Reminds me a lot of my Boxster S.

That is a real nice unmolested car. Great mileage for the year. With the hard top included. I guess at $23000. To me, that's what it's worth at least. If you beat that price then very well done. So come on don't keep me in SUSPENDERS. What did you pay for it?

Pretty red convertible. Reminds me of Gonzo's previous car. Interesting that you went from a 996TT to a NA996. Not the usual path, but the NA996 is a great car and you obviously know very well your Porsches.
Plus, you get the extra 25 hp that they put into all Guards Red models. Sweet!

The car was 15k. I was not looking to buy but it was so clean that I could not pass it up.
I sold my Turbo to buy more rental properties. Those are up and cash flowing now so the last few months profits bought me this one. I feel like I can drive it for the next few years without losing very much (if any) in value.

Wow, you did well, but I think you just made Hurdi cry. I keep preaching that now until the end of the year is a great time to buy a 996, and that goes double for a cabriolet. There are lots of good deals on the market this time of the year. Prices will go up after the first of the year.

84k miles. I bought it from a Porsche shop (on consignment, one of their clients just had it in for a 60k level service. (oil, sparkplugs, air filter, plus some other things I am forgetting)
The tires look new as well. I will have to check through the last 4 years of service history to see what else has been done. It looks like a recent batter was put in as well.
one bummer is only one key....and the remote does not work.

Same thing on my 996TT. But then again, as I'm sure you've heard on the turbo forum, my 996TT is complete crap pile, POS, ragged out, Frankenstein track toy. So, there's that.
BTW, I amend my previous assessment of your convertible purchase: you stole that thing. Between the price you paid and comparing it to a Boxster, you probably made more than just Hurdi cry.

Lol! I loved the Boxster! I needed 4 seats or I would have had another and saved myself 5k.
I just really loved the way a 996 Turbo looked in Coupe form and mine was a brutal speed weapon.
