replace coat hooks with Porsche Crest caps
Hi all, I recently bought some plastic Porsche crest caps to replace the coat hooks that are attached to the back on the front seats on my 996 (has anyone ever used these coat hooks, I think they are useless). Anyway I am getting the Porsche crests colour coded to the body colour but I can't figure out how to attach them. The coat hooks are simply held in place by one torx screw which I can remove but how do the crests attach. There is no screw hole in them (doing so would spoil them). It looks like there should be a screw from the inside of the seat into the crest but how would that work? See photo for my problem, Has anyone replaced these coat hooks before?

sorry could you please explain bit further or show some photos? Are you saying to drill a hole in the new Porsche crest emblem? (I don't want to do that because it will spoil the look) looking at the photo provided by Atrox on the Suncoast parts website, it looks like the Porsche crest might have been fitted over the top of the existing coat hook rather than replacing the coat hook. Is that what you did? (other wise what do you guy the crest too? surely not the back of the leather seat)

no.
there is a hole in the seat for the screw. You drill out this hole slightly. then you apply glue to the nub on the back of your crest caps, and put that into the hole you just drilled.
Based on the suncoast pic however, these look a bit goofy.

I could maybe see doing this on a cabriolet, but you never see them/notice them on a coupe
