Looks great! Bet you can't wait for spring.
Reminds me of the time they rolled my 996 off the truck - was a great day!

Congrats,

You will get a lot of "do this", and "do that" from the guys here....

however, clear your front and rear water drains ASAP!!!!

Takes 10 minutes. If they are at all clogged, one good down pour of rain or when you wash it you use to much water, you can cause thousands of $$$'s in damage to vital electronics.

Just one cab owner looking out for another cab owner.....

PM me if you want help on how to, or search under "water drains".

This is great advice... my cab needed a new immobilizer (lives under drivers seat) due to water damage under previous owners care. Replacing that part requires new keys too. Thats a $1500+ experience

The 996.1 with lowered springs (H&R springs or coilovers) has an amazing stance, in my view ... plus the added handling benefits. Highly recommended as a 2nd mod following pumpkins swap!
Very nice car! Congrats!

Hey Rolex, dumb question but when I have the hard top on the cab does rainwater still get in those drains? Thanks!

Clean and elegant. And doubtless, at an excellent price.
Well done. Enjoy.

Yes. The are located under the frunk on each side of the battery.

That is a good question. I have never looked into how the drains work when the hard top is on.

Realize there are front drains and there are rear drains. The front drain are indeed on either side of the battery. I not 100% sure but if the front drains are clogged and water collects I don't believe water gets inside the car. But the battery compartment floods and affect the brake booster and other stuff in there.

I believe (guessing until I take a look) when the hard top is on, the edges of the top are farther out and the water dips down the side of the car. Whereas when the soft top is up the top material is inside of the edge and forms a channel where the water collects and flows down the "waterfalls" as they are known. The waterfalls lead into a collection tray which holds about 2 or 3 cups of water. These collection trays have a hole at the bottom with a tube that leads to the rear fender well of the back tires where the water exits safely.

These rear drains are the ones that can flood the interior. Either the outlets inn the rear fender wells get clogged from road debris or the holes at the bottom of the collection tray clog. Either way if the collection trays overflow the water spills out. And believe it or not these trays are in the interior of the car so the water goes right into the carpet floor. If enough water over flows (and it doesn't take much) it finds its way under the drivers seat and floods the electronics there.

These rears drains must be checked by taking off the rear tires and getting behind the plastic fender wells to check the outlet drains. And taking out the rear speakers which exposes the "waterfalls" and the collection trays.
Iy usually takes a lot of time for these drains to clog due to small amounts of dirt building up. But the nightmare scenario is if a piece of insulation foam or some rubber strips which are located above them fall off and land in the trays and block the holes. You can just have cleared your drains but of this happens it is immediate and the tray will overflow in a good rainstorm or heavy washing of the top.

This why I always check mine every 3 months or so and looks for any foam or other materials that might look like is coming loose. If so I pull it off or reattach it securely.
