Some know the market, others guess, and then you have those that just watch. Question to ask is what kind are you?
Who here would like to guess how much will be spent on that box (with the Syncro issue)? Anyone???? Only a few on this 996 forum have ever opened a G96/G50. Most only ask, "How much is it going to cost?" or "Wow, that sure is pretty as it must have cost a fortune." Response: You wouldn't believe me if I told you.......
Good luck Ricky. I'll keep my eye open in Monterey.

I haven't forgotten this thread - just got really sidetracked with work and life. I'm going to head out and get some pictures on Monday/Tuesday and then let the cat out of the bag. If a car with a replaced subframe catches 73K, aren't the rest of us up to $498,102.77 by now?

Also, we are on the cusp of a used automotive bubble right now for all makes and models. It doesn't surprise me that this is happening. Earlier this year a friend bought a manual 997 Turbo and a few weeks ago a dealer offered him almost twice what he paid for it because they had a buyer with really deep pockets and that buyer didn't care about value. He just wanted that car and he got it

When you have a very tiny pool of cars like the 6GT3, prices will statistically be all over the map. If the pool was 100,000 cars you would have a very accurate accounting of used prices. Not so for us, which means that some people will pay, and can easily afford, higher prices than most.

I have no issues with paying 80k or more for the right GT3. I don't think its worth an in depth conversation as there are so many variables with each car, but I wouldn't pay 80k plus shipping to buy a Silver gt3 with replaced subframe, 70k miles, and a front incident leaving a crooked bumper.
Hope this sheds some insight as to what type of car I am looking for, and what type of buyer I am...are you selling your 6/gt3?

I was just asking whether it was the value of that car at $80k or if $80k wasn't happening no matter what the car. That clarity may help you if somebody here might want to reach out to you but they have a car for $80 or $85k. I'd also put a wanted ad on PCA.
That tornado car would have been a hard pass for me at any price
