I was reading through the forums and from what I gather there are 96 GT3's with "plastic" interior" and ones with leather. Which bits are plastic. Any pics appreciated. Thank you!

It depends on the options selected, but the options work the same as any other 996. Full leather is full leather, etc.

The biggest plastic is dashboard and doors.
Full leather on 996 makes a big difference.

As others have said the full leather option on a 996 entails the dashboard and the tops of the door panels. Everything else is the same. It doesn’t sound like much but it really is a great option to have.

To each their own but I really like the full vinyl interior as a further throwback to the old school cars (pre 73 or 74?). Fitting for sports purpose car IMO...but it doesn't tolerate abrasions like leather would.

my GT2 is full leather, including vents and speaker grills...think I'd rather have the base interior for simplicity of upkeep and general sporting vibes...leather is damn nice too though..

Full leather interior included the dashboard, door panels, rear side panels, rear center console and seats. Base seats only had leather on insides as bolsters were not leather. There was a diagram which can probably be found in very old posts.

The Guards Red GT3 on BAT does not have the Full Leather option. Easy spot is pics of doors. When only the side airbag has stitching its not full leather.

Follow up question . So I just sold my 996GT3 with gorgeous full leather but found and bought another one. Parts of the interior like the top of the dash when I push on it feels squishy, not hard like plastic. I know it’s not full leather -what would this be- is there a “vinyl”interior on these cars? Thank you

That’s the “standard” interior. It has a foam core to it… same on the 997s

Thanks for the response. Is the standard interior is the same as the “plastic” interior? Or none the surfaces that are padded are actually hard plastic instead.
