I did not mean a Chinese knock off race seat. I meant a legit reputable company. I would never even consider a It is well known the crazy demand for these seats, but they are very hard to come by. Obviously, the most ideal scenario was mentioned above. Recaro put these back into production or create a modern version for a reasonable price. I am sure safety guidelines have changed since these were originally made, so some tweaks would have to be done to today's standards.

Go with the euro buckets. They look the part and will hold their value if not increase in value. Can't say that for aftermarket seats.

Auctions tend to be the most expensive way to buy something desirable.

You have several factors in play. One, you are reaching a larger audience. The second is psychology. People can be pretty competitive. The passion to "win" often butts ahead of common sense.

If I have an item that I want to sell on eBay and I know has value and desirability, I always start the bidding at $1. This drives a literal feeding frenzy and I always get a high sale when it ends. I think it attracts more bidders at the start, then bidders seem to have an "investment" in the processes that brings the Mr. Hyde out of the Jekylls.

BAT is high. People seem to enjoy overpaying there.

And the peanut gallery has a curious investment in projecting how high the price will go and egging on the bidding until it reaches or surpasses that target.

And those BAT seats aren't even in great condition! I've had the leather and currently have the perlon. I sold my leather ones with all hardware back 4-5 years ago for 2500! It wasn't mentioned above, but imho the primary advantage of the perlon is that the fabric doesn't wrinkle! I have yet to see a set of the leather ones with any mileage on them whatsoever that did not have ton of creases and wrinkles. That always bugged me with these.

Well, as long as we're talking values, what's a recovered set of GT3 seats worth with sliders? Or I guess, what would YOU pay? Assume the recover is to your liking.

edit: I don't have any seats for sale.

I have a brand new pair and all hardware. Never bolted in. I have had serious offers by multiple people for $10,000.
Just adding info on value. They are not for sale.

The leather Euro seats are the probably the most sought after seat option but not a great choice if you plan to do any track day driving. I found the leather to be hot when running with the windows open (required) and the AC off (recommended). I went with the Recaro SA rated race seats that I found several years ago for about $800 each brand new. Brey Krause makes a seat bracket that allows you to bolt Recaro race seats to the factory GT3 sliders or you can use the Recaro brackets with a slight modification. My yellow stitched factory GT3 seats have spent most of their lives in the packaging from the race seats. They're still a nice look with the rest of the interior with matching stitching.
