PCCM Plus in GT3 or GT2 ?

In general I would agree but I think it's just impossible to get any sort of bass out of a handful of 4" speakers with no tuning of the enclosures they are attached to. I have some Alpine 4"s installed with 3d printed spacers for the OEM speaker grilles along with the Continental TR7412UB-OR headunit and it still sounds empty in here.
IMO the best bet in one of these cars is one of those extremely slim subwoofers you could tuck under a seat. Anything I could see would bother me. Something like this: https://www.crutchfield.com/S-x1Ovml...gaAqKcEALw_wcB

The problem is that when other parts of the "enclosure" begin to move or vibrate they tend to move in a way that counters the effective movement of the cone. To answer that I made the front baffle on my home speakers is about 1-1/2" thick and the remaining walls are double constrained layers of baltic birch almost 1" thick. Hard to do that in a lightweight car. No amount of driver displacement capacity will stop doors and sheet metal from moving when the cone extends or retracts.
Many modern home stereo speakers use 4" to 6" woofers and deliver plenty of bass in a much larger environment. It isn't so much enclosure tuning in these cases because most are sealed cabinets. The days of tuned vented cabinets may not be totally dead, but modern amplifiers produce copious amounts of power to overcome the inefficiencies of a sealed cabinet.
The only thing worse than installing a sound system in a GT car is a Cup car.

[QUOTE=996TS;18233453]My cupholders are still here I only open them to look at them sometimes though... blocks the view of the screen with anything in them [
Well, I guess I should’ve said I can’t live without my center console delete. I’m 6’4” and value the extra legroom when driving. Especially on the track.

I love the look of the center console delete. The regular PCCM (same fitment as older air-cooled) is the one for you then

does PCCM connect up to a 996? fitment per porsche "stops" at the 993. if it works, great option. also doesn't look to include android auto but has *wired* car play. Bluetooth only isn't a deal breaker but i'd still need my phone out for maps. No, I don't want an iPhone.

anyone tried regular PCCM in a 996?

PCCM fits 100% perfectly into a 996. PCCM+Centre Console delete are what 996 GT3 dreams are made of

Having spent a fair bit of time installing the PCCM+, I'm fairly confident that you could get the PCCM to work with a 996 GT3 because it doesn't have a factory external AMP. You'd likely need to build your own wiring harness, but the ISO connectors are widely available. It'd be more complex in any of the 996s that came with a factory amp.

Sorry for bumping this "kind of dead" thread, but I'm really considering the standard pccm (single din) in my 996. But I read somewhere else that while the single din pccm will work in a pre-most 996 (there was a 1999 996 sold on BAT with one), our cars with the most system are not compatible. Does anyone know for sure? It would be a kind of expensive mistake.
