Default Are any of you running 19" wheels?

I don't want to move away from 18" wheels but most (all) wheels I'm considering are not available in 18". They're all larger.

If you're running 19's, what has your experience been so far? Tire selection is fine? How did the ride change? Mind posting some photos?

Thanks

Part of your decision should consider the roads you drive. As you increase rim size the tire wall height decreases, which makes it easier to bent or break rims.

With the right offsets you can run 997.1GT3 sizes. The taller rears will give you same sidewall height, larger contact patch, higher load rating, and the tire selection is better in the 235/35/19 and 305/30/19. You will need to reset ride height by lowering the chassis a touch and then realign. Car will perform better due to new tire technology available in the 997 sizes and the greater contact patch. Downside is the fact that your gearing will be even slightly taller than the ridiculously tall OEM gearing but that can be remedied with a 3.89 R&P.

No joke on the gearing!

I am talking to a fellas about a set of OZ wheels, 18" and correct fitment. They look different/great but at the same time are a little (too) flashy? Kind of a period piece.

Based on what you're saying, powdrhound, I will be making a pretty big investment time/money wise to accomplish the 19" wheel route. Wheels, tires, fiddle the the car, time, time.

Maybe I should let the idea cool off and wait until I'm closing in on needing new tires. I bet I've only put 4k on the mounted PS4S's.

Going 19" sounds fine.

Thanks for the comments so far, powdrhound and Marv.

Now to find a gearing thread......

Stock wheels are the business. I agree.

If I was ordering a new set of wheels I'd probably be ordering 19" to utilize the numerous tire choices and higher rear load ratings

i haven’t used street tires in years but I would do a MPSC2 in a 305/30/19 on a 6-3. 19x11.5 or 12.
