It's time for me to do a caliper rebuild, and I want to R&R everything while I am in there. But the motorsports rebuild kids are NLA, and there seems to be some debate if RacingBrake is the right move or not. I don't track this car much anymore, now it's just for fun on the street, but I want to keep it track-capable. I don't have PCCB.

I figure from reading all the threads, they are all somewhat dated, so I am curious:
- I need a rebuild kit from somewhere, unsure yet where. I don't see RB having a simple kit for this anymore. What's the best bet in 2022?
- I need new rotors. What's the hawtness these days? Rear 350 upgrade?
- New brake lines. I will do SS lines, cause why not.
- New pads
- Studs
- New fluid obviously.

What else?

Interested in this as well. My calipers will need be done soon. For the rear im usung a simple spacer and a 350mm rotor from a '14 panamera turbo. It was the ony one i could find as slotted only. Did not want drilled because of cracking from track use.

If u want 2 piece u can also go with Girodisk. There r a ton of options for the rear at either diameter. The front rotors, not so much. They r unique in offset so no borrowing from another model + low production = pricey.

I'm running the girodisc and I'm happy with them. Tad pricey but they work and with my (only occassional) track use they should last me a long time!

The main thing I need to source now is the seals. Are folks really replacing the pistons too or was that just a relic of Racing Brake marketing?

@kgorman You may want to check out John Hayworth's services - Home Page (hayworthracingbrakes.com) I used John for my Cup Car brakes (the big brake version just like what is found on our 996.2 GT3 street cars. John completely rebuilt all four calipers, powder coated them with new PORSCHE decals and turned them around in less than one week. I thought he was AWESOME to deal with. The calipers came back in like-new condition. I think I paid all-in around $1100 with shipping/insurance. I'm a big fan of John and will use his services again when it comes time to re-do my street calipers. No affiliation other than being a very satisfied customer!

As for rotors, I have used Girodiscs on the race car (yes, they offer a non-floating version of our rotors so I was GTC3 legal!). I have Girodiscs on the .2 GT3 I bought at the end of last April and am very happy with them. They are readily available from the manufacturer. And I would also HIGHLY recommend the Traqjunk caliper spring tool AND the Girodisc Caliper compressor tool. These two tools go a long way to making an easy job even easier. Demon Speed has puck replacements that are every bit as good as the old factory units, and Ed also sells the 997 puck retainer that hold the spacer puck in the caliper when the pad is out. VERY handy part (997-352-086-91).

Interested to hear what pad you go with. I am trying EBC Red Stuff on the front right now. So far, so good.

I rebuilt my yellow calipers with cheap centric kits, 143.37025 and 143.37009, worked fine. I have a set of red calipers too with Racing Brake hardware.

Also went to a talk by a Brembo engineer who recommended against powder coating their calipers.
Personally, I think it's probably fine for most applications although you'd want to keep an eye on the heat curve they use.

Have PFC and Girodisc rotors. Squealing pagid yellow pads, plan to try Ferodo DS3.12 if I ever get my car to the track again.
Been using Castrol SRF, plan to switch to Endless RF-650.

I’m a fan of Ferodo DS1.11. I use them in my cup and also road car. Excellent track pad and work from dead cold but beware they are noisy.

I just purchased new front calipers from the dealership $2200 shipped, my old ones had a scratch.

You should be able to email RB and get the GT3 seal kit. I purchased my kit from there last year and it worked well.

Centric, after the acquisition in 2021, has discontinued their caliper rebuild kit program.

I stock kits for all Brembo calipers, with both the OEM style rubber dust boots as well as high temp silicone dust boots. Send me a PM any kits are needed.
