Default E88 test fitment and some questions

Finally get a set of e88 and they fit with plenty of room for my PCCB's

Few ?s
1. anyway to cover the ugly nut inside of the center without running center caps? They look so much better without them
2. should i switch to studs? the front wheel bolts are way short so i either A. get bigger bolts or B. switch to studs. Curious about everyones route. the front wheel bolt hole is 35mm thick.

Would you mind sharing your wheels specs?

Jealous, are those new?

I'd like to put on wheel studs sometime. Past searching led me to H&R, here is an extensive thread. H&R was Powdrhound recommendation and 40 mm studs are to be long enough for E88's.

from the FS thread.

they fit like a glove and have plenty of room for the pccb's

"Hi, I have a set of BBS E88 sized 18x9 +43, 18x11 +58 that I'm selling.

They were built from fresh faces by Sensei 6, an authorized BBS dealer.

I was running them on my 993 C2. The only modification was rolled fenders and extended front lugs.

These are slightly different from most E88s I've seen on 993s -- I asked Sensei 6 to size them specifically for more brake clearance in the front and more lip in the rear, so the front lips are smaller and the rear lips are larger than most sets made for NB."

thanks. these came up last week and i jumped on them.
they are about a year old and need a little bit of cleanup. no big deal though.

numeric makes long enough bolts for my needs. most photos i see are on bolts not studs and its a street car for the foreseeable future, so I'm not sure i want the look of studs.

You can buy a faux centerlock style cap directly from BBS Motorsports. This is what mine looks like

Yep, I run these with E88s. Zero issues ever running slicks on a 900whp track car. I wouldn't run any other studs, period... Again, using 118 ft.lb on the lugs is paramount.

Mmmmm, so nice. White 996 GT3s rock! That car is similar to mine except my E88s are in silver and unfortunately not in that great a condition though. Do you ever make it out to Summit point or VIR in that beauty?

unfortunately no time between kids and work. although the car is setup for track/street, it's just not the right season

I totally get it. I have some friends in the same situation. Hopefully you'll get to stretch the GT3s legs at a track at some point. I find street driving so limiting. The car is fun on the street but it comes alive on the track. If you don't mind me asking, how have you set it up? I just have GT3 seats and Ohlin R&Ts. Other than the shocks and a rebuilt diff, she's stock.
Here's a pict of mine before being taken to Summit Point for some leg stretching at PorscheFest last year.

Studs make tire changes much easier. I like the caps but don’t bother with them.

One more thing to add in an effort to stay on target. My GT3 does not have studs, but my 996 C2 race car does. The studs do make it easier to change the wheels but not significantly so for me. Maybe saving me 30 seconds to a minute per wheel. Studs are worth it but not a game changer in my opinion.

i did some quick measuring, and the front wheel depth from the bottom of the ball seat to the back of the wheel is on the front is approx. 35mm and the rear is 11.5mm.

I saw that numeric makes some upgraded wheel bolts and obviously so does H&R w & w/o a floating ball seat. The Numerics are much nicer finished and its mostly a street car. Although each site shows a different quality photo of the H&R.
