Default Looking for feedback on shops for some engine work

I need an engine rebuild. I live in Calgary Canada and there isnt much support up here so shipping down south is really my only recourse aside from rebuilding it myself. I have been in communication with Neil at Performance Developments. Any feedback on these guys?

Sorry to hear that. I don't have any feedback on shops up near you, but I would love to hear more about why a rebuild is required? What are the symptoms? How many miles? If you don't want to share I respect that. I'm just curious as you don't see to many of these that have needed a rebuild.

Sorry to hear that. Best of luck. On the bright side, if you love the car and were planning to keep it, now is a great time to do some increased displacement and or completely refresh the car so its as good as the day it rolled out of the factory.

Its kind of like my new roof I just had to put on my house. If we were looking to sell, that would have been 60k down the hole. But we are going to be hear for the long term, so at least we are going to get something out of it!

Autometrics Motorsports (Autometrics Motorsports | Club Racing, Pro Racing, Race Coaching) in Summerville, South Carolina. Gordon Friedman did my 2001 GT3 Cup motor. He did a WONDERFUL job in a reasonable timeframe. This was also back when PMNA was experiencing rod bolt issues and rebuilds for '6 and '7 Cups ground to a halt while Porsche sorted the issue out. If you can get it to him, Gordon is an absolute MASTER!

In my case, a very respectful shop really screwed up a set of rods for me, almost to the point of needing to throw them away. I would like to assume that it was not a normal occurrence for them, since they sourced the work, but I would still not do business with them. Not worth the potential trouble to 'bad-mouth' them, as I was able to recover
