Default GT3 Prices

What is going on with GT3 prices? I'm seeing 04's with under 5000 miles for the mid $80's. Is this a styling issue - people want the 997? These cars were selling for $115K-$120K new. Ouch, my 996 TT did not deprciate that fast.

I think the 997S market syphoned many GT3 sales.

As an owner of an 13 month old GT3 with 1000 miles and an MSRP of 110,000, I concur. In fact I just ordered a 997S. I bought my GT3 new for 105,000 and is now worth only 85 0r a 25,ooo from MSRP. I guess the car was not as desirable as the hype one might read in this forum. Meamwhile My 1997 turbo will bring close to 85- go figure. I always believed the used market determines the real value/desireability of any car.

many ppl bought GT3 b/c it was hot and different. then realized that it's hard to drive, bumpy, loud blah blah, trading in for 997s which is almost as fast or maybe faster (i dont know)... but i think it's great to see all the GT3's at 85k, many enthusiasts can try them out.

Buy a brand spanking new GT2 and see how really bad it is and they only made like 200-300 in the US. Still waiting for that to go down to mid 70's-make mine guards red/black : ). Regards. Mike

I plan on keeping mine forever, so it doesn't matter to me. Remember, these are built as track cars, and as track cars they should depreciate faster. I wanted a new one to make sure that it had been broken in properly and not abused. But, I got mine for $7,000 under sticker, so that helps.

If you are a car flipper, it was not a good choice, but anything under a F-car is dropping in value. I predict these will settle at $55-$65M and then hold from there. Future '73RS!

To have resale like a 73RS, they'll have to be worth over $1 Million in 2035 (adjust for inflation)

Why not? It depends on what Porsche keeps building, but there were less than 980 brought into the U. S.

So, maybe only worth 400-$500M.

Will cars be that much more fun to drive in 2030? They won't be manual transmission for sure. Maybe a better analogy is the RS America?

No, they won't be more fun. They may not even run on gasoline by then...

I made that deal and Philip got the exact same car at the same price.
You need to consult your friends in the future...

I don't know if I'll have my GT3 forever, but at least the next 3-4 years. I haven't driven anything else street legal that's as much fun as this car. That's all I'm concerned about at the moment. I can wait for the 998 GT3...

Me too. The cost of ownership is much less that way.

I paid 87k for my last Feb......So I'm still doing pretty good. I love the 997S....But the 3 is just special.....you have to love it for sure, but I don't understand all the "its hard to live with for street driving"

My wife and I take it out a couple times a month. Its great.
