Post GT2 or 360 Spyder

Hey Guys. If you had to choose between a GT2 or a 360 Spyder which would you get.

The cars purposes:
-Used as a daily driver for 4 months. Otherwise kept in garage--so around 4-5K miles a year
-Car needs to be powerful, handle well, and be a car that you can be seen in
-No history of consistent problems...a la 355 Ferrari

Thanks in Advance

I think everyone who ended up with a GT2 had to go through this process, and decided on a GT2 ( unless they own both...).

As far as a daily driver is concerned, the GT2 is perfectly usable. It is great for it's subtlety, but attracts attention from those who know what they are looking at.

Ferraris are great, but flashy....and not usually used as daily drivers.

Well considering your in New York, as a daily driver why not a TT X50 package. All wheel drive and the ultimate power. You can put on a GT2 kit if your really going for the looks and do suspension, rims, etc...

Thanks for the quick reply

03 C4S---

The TT X50 is an amazing car and is also one of the cars I am interested in, but if i decide to track this car, I will only autocross and DE the car. Ive been told that the turbo is not a good autocross car because the power is not capable of coming on in short intervals and when it does come, its too much power for autocrossing. I also am not a fan of people who put on aero kits of other models on their car. I guess as long as they dont have the other model's logo on their car its ok, but Turbo's with GT2 kits I just can't stand. Id rather get the TT and go w/a Techart kit.

Msindi--

Resale is not an issue. This will be a car I keep forever. I currently have a 2001 996 C4. At the time I wanted a Turbo but couldnt find an allocation that I could order my car. This time around I want to get my perfect car and have it forever. I love the TT, the GT2 and the Ferrari. I want the ferrari because its my ultimate dream. The GT2 is amazing power and comparable to the TT X50, but the RWD makes me sooooo giddy. I also like the GT2 for its collectors piece belief that most owners have.

I think I made my choice in that explanation of what I want. Ferrari for Later, GT2 for now. Who knows, still have a year to go.

More opinions please!

Thanks in advance

I had that dilemma and went for the GT2, mostly because:

- the 360 spider is too visible, too heavy and depreciates like a brick with significant mileage. If you want an example of this compare a 2000 miles modena with a 12000 miles modena.

- the GT2 is a fun sports car while IMHO, the spider is a luxury car.

- the GT2 is available new for way less than MSRP while the spider is still very hard to get new. Some alsmot new cars are available for 40K above MSRP

- I love convertibles but every time I own one, I never drive top down because there is too much sun (:

Thanks once again

20C4S---I know the GT2 is a coupe. I prefer the spyder over the regular modena. I think the Spyders body looks alot nicer than the modenas.

Phil McGrath- The reason for the 1 year wait is that I have a 996 C4 on lease and am going to wait till its lease is up. Then i will go from there. Ive put 12K miles on a 2001 C4.

Thanks

if u want to track the car, and have the money, i would consider the 360 Challenge Stradale over the spyder. plus this is the one to keep forever over the stock 360 or spyder in my opinion.

just finished reading the latest EVO magazine. full detail of 360 Challenge Stradale. go buy the magazine, maybe it can help u!

GT2 is nice too. hope i can have both in the near future!

Unless you already have a deposit on one, it's unlikely you can get a 360 spider for anywhere near the price of a GT2, if that matters.

Buy what you want; don't defer gratification; it may never come. (PS: i'd recommend the stick over the paddles).

who are you? that's the ?

if you want to pound hard on a trouble free supercar: gt2

if you want to baby a fragile looker, go 360. i use cars hard, and i was sure i'd break my 360 spider, with excess expensive f-maintainance, and that flimsy conv top mechanism would go. and stick only, f1 is a drag in traffic. order the racing seats, they're excellent. i also found the exhaust loud.
and if you have to lease this car, why not wait until you can buy it, a much more conservative approach, and cash gets a good deal on gt2 and lease pays full retail.
