I am going to install the Cool Shirt cooler in the front boot as I have seen it done in many cars but am trying to figure out where there is a firewall or opening that will allow me to run tubing into the car to hook up to the shirt.

Well, here I go. FWIW, I ended up buying the flexible cool suit bag (large size)

which fits perfectly behind the drivers' door and rear shelf. It locks on to the roll bar and I ran power down the center console, added a small toggle switch into the ash tray, and put quick connects on the ends of the wires. The cool bag works great from inside the car, takes five seconds to remove, and is completely out of the way when not on the track.

Just thought I would share this in case you haven't already bought the cool suit set up, and would consider this option.

I had Greg (our engineer) install the 24 quart Cool Shirt box up front when my car was there for suspension tuning.

He ran the 12 foot hoses through the firewall on the passenger side and then along the passeger side of the tunnel to the center console. I am not sure exactly where the hole for the hose was cut.

The system worked great at CMP a few weeks ago.

I will be at Lowes July 4th if you want to look at the install.

Greg is supposed to be picking up my car today (looks like tomorrow) to do some minor work before the weekend so I'll talk to him about it. Only problmem is I just checked my box and the hose I have is 8' so I might need to install in the cockpit instead.

I ran my Traqmate wires through a hole in the firewall that is just to the drivers side of center, behind the battery. It is a thick rubber disk, about 2-3 in in diameter with some hoses or wires essentially molded to the center of the disk, but there is additional room where the disk fills a hole in the metal firewall to route some cool shirt hoses. I can't get pictures now, but can pm them to you in a few days if that would be helpful.

You may want to see if you can swap/exchange the 8' hoses for 12' hoses.

The 24 qt (which stayed cold for 9 hours on 20# if ice) would take up a lot of space in the passenger footwell, and would be impossible to get to if it were mounted behind fixed back seats. You need to be able to remove the box to empty the water.

The 12 qt box outside dimensions are not much smaller. The flexible bag would fit behind, but does not hold nearly as much ice, and would not last as long as either box.
