I have seen 2 - 997 GT3 with > $65K just in Porsche parts ( front left and rear right) repaired to perfection. Will a collector want it? No! Will it drive as it should? Yes. The tub is what counts. The car is designed to take a much bigger hit.
As far as your car, have no worries just make sure you take it to the right guy.

Scott - I'm so bummed for you, especially since a) you know how I lusted over your car before getting mine (still want white), and b) being from H.B. can only picture the assumed "blond-ness" of "daddy's little driver" in the Jeep.
Anyway, hopefully the car can be fixedl if not, you got a PM.
Happy Holidays to you, L., and the kids! Take care.

Scott:
Sorry to hear about your car. Everything looks fixable to me. The only paint-work should be quarter panel, new bumper cover and bumperettes. Other than that looks like damage to easily replaceable items such as exhaust can, tailpipe, lamp assembly, deck lid, RR wheel (looks bent to me) and definitely tire (just to be safe). There are a whole host of minor brackets, clips, etc which will add up. But all should be readily available. Assuming no damage to engine or un-repairable damage to frame you should be back in business soon. Quality body shops are able to make a car like new. Fix the car and enjoy it.

Thanks to all for the input/advice. I just hung-up with Avio Coach Craft ... and their first look is with the consensus here ... it's fixable.

Best of luck on the repair process, believe me i know "the day after" really sucks! You may want to try and go for "diminished value" on the claim against the other driver as we all know any paint work at all sends many prospective buyers into a frenzy of angst. Shrews

Lawrence P where are you?
Did you not replace your stock GT3 exhaust with a dual center cup exhaust and bumper cover?
If so, please post a couple of photos.

I think Mark here in Portland was having his car converted to a cup rear bumper and center exhaust. Hopefully he'll chime in here. Or just look for pics of the rear of a 996 cup car.

From someone who has had this same damage..its all fixable. and probably with better parts...I vision RS Wing, Aftermarket exhaust. I went with Europipe...and have them pull the engine...so Insurance can install the LWFW and clutch. give it a few days after you get her back...you will be fine.....my pain went away, after I saw her repaired.

Stupid B***H. No one knows how to drive these days. Most schools have ditched their Drivers Ed programs; and most of these kids think they're driving in a video game. "I can drive however I want with no consequences." I'm amazed at the crap I see every single day just driving back and forth to work. Tailgating, no signals, multiple lane changes, cutting people off, etc. REALLY sorry to hear about your car. She's was beauty, and she will be again.

Good luck fixing the car. I actually saw you on my way to lunch in that gas station parking lot next to that red Wrangler, and was wondering if it was a fellow Rennlister....figured it was an enthusiast with the RS wing on there. Nice looking car you have, good luck getting her fixed back up!
