Default Kls Bugz no more ... GT3 on death-bed???

... was in Huntington Beach early yesterday morning checking out our new beach house and meeting with the carpenter and City personnel regarding the new fence ...

... left HB and was heading towards Newport Beach ...

... reached the corner of northbound Fairfield and Baker ... was in a right turn only lane stopped behind 1 other car as he was waiting on a green light for the cross-walk to clear of pedestrians ... and a 19 year-old girl decided to change 2-3 lanes on the wet, rain-soaked street and entered the right turn lane ... plowing into me at what she admitted to the officer was "like 25 to 30" ... more like 35 to 40, or more ... in her 1990 Jeep Wrangler ...

... made it home about 9:00 after dropping off the vehicle at Avio Coach Craft ...

... car is on life-support ... will likely get a call soon that they are pulling the plug and putting her out of her misery ...

... I'm sad ...

... Merry F-ing Christmas Scott ...

That can be fixed easily. You're luck!y! Bad timing though, Merry Christmas indeed. Sorry for your pain.

Sorry to see that. It sucks. However, it looks like it can be fixed. I'll bet you won't be able to tell after it is repaired. White is an easier color to match, too. Hang in there.

Very sorry to hear and see what happened. Hope the repair (if acceptable) goes well. That girl needs to be sent to an HPDE school (not in her Jeep)!!!!!
What really sucks is, you did not do this, she did and she most likely doesn't know or care "it is a GT3."
Take care and enjoy X-Mas with your family no matter what.

Bob and Chuck -

I hope you're right ... I love that car ... it's lightly optioned and simple. But what about that crease in the passenger side rear quarter panel (see 3rd pic from top)? Doesn't it matter most about specific frame damage and the area affected when they get her in the air regarding whether or not its fixable?

You're right ... teens should be required to attend a real driving school ... not just some on-line BS for driver training before they get behind the wheel ...

Thanks to all for the kind words of encouragement ...

scott: that rear quarter is going to be no big deal if you like the car. I would bet that the right rail is bent. I was hit square in the rear and both quarters looked the same. The shop MIGed the rails.
My bill was $25K which included dropping the motor and replacing the exhaust.

Omg, sorry to hear! Didn't know a rear bumper can be ripped off like that. Ugh... sad to see the pictures.

Very sorry to see pics like that! Is that a crease on the driver's side rear quarter panel as well? Anyways, hope that girl has good insurance. White is actually a very hard to match color because it yellows as it ages.

Ouch!!! Yah ... to Wilfred's comment above ... gonna take some high range limits ... whether it's fixable or totalled ... might end up dealing with my own company???

that's fixable. I take a rear end collision over front in our cars. Most fortified in rear - if fixed rt won't notice ne issues but front no matter how perfect- car doesn't feel the same. Mike
