Default Exhaust and headers (a la ASP)

Given the great results from PJ's GT3 exhaust and header center exit system, Charles of ASP wanted to build another full hand fabricated system for the OEM dual exit GT3. This consist of equal length headers, mufflers and tips. Since PJ's and my GT3 already have similar mods this project was a no brainer.
Just recieved car last week so, at this time do not have any photos, videos or sound bites currently available, sorry. As expected, results are like PJ's with one exception, mine already has the muffler inserts installed. With the inserts db's are lower but more noticeable is the loss of the "raspyness".
Elected to go w/o cats and car is not affected. At idle, tone is low and rumbles. At legal street use system is liveable and only noticeably louder than my full GEMBALLA (which is now available for sale) system. Girl friend endorsed! db's do increase in a linear fashion from @4 grand all the way to red line. IMO, worksmanship, fit, finish and results are at least as good if not better than other high end commercially available systems out there. Also, nice to be able to have any of your questions or concerns answered directly by the guy who worked on your car.
D.

The pipes and cans look stuffed and the tip turn outs are tight. What about a hollow bananna? Clean and simple.

David,
Thanks, as described it is very stuffed and very tight fit. What's a hollow bananna?
BTW, most importantly no CELS!
Anybody interested in a full GEMBALLA (modeled after the Manthey) exhaust for sale?

A hollow bannana is the early '70s sport twin pipe exhaust. Had a great low rumble at low rpm and a great wail when "on the pipe". Could be configured for end input and the twin side exhaust or even twin center. Wasn't some of the cup exhausts kinda like that?

David,

My bad, in the early 70's I had a Mazda. Missed that one but remember now. It does however sound like what you describe.

Latest update: Passed WA State emissions test yesterday! OBDII of course. Not running cats....

D-Uber,
did you ever do sound bytes of this setup? Also curious what the tips ended up looking like.

Dave,
Did not get a sound bite but was quieter than PJ's center exit system. You can see in the last picture above what the black powder coated pipes look like. From the rear they angle out like a nice set of cold nipples! If interested I can provide a couple more photos directly to you.
This pipe was only on for 1K miles and is now for sale. It weighs only 44Lbs. List price as built: $6,500. Asking $5K.
I have sold the GT3 and have recently moved onto a RS.
