Default Carpet removal (GT3 MK1)

Hi there,

Eventually I sold my 993 RS look-like for a MK1 GT3 Clubsport.

I spent 5 days to remove the carpet from my 993 (I should say remove the glue behind the carpet) and I wanted to know how easy it was to do the same on my GT3...

When I look at different pictures of GT3 without any carpet left I assume that there is no more glue to remove but maybe I'm wrong.

If anyone has the answer to my question, would be really greatful!

Thanks in advance!

Extremely easy.

Only the passenger side front carpet has a little bit of glue on right side.

When removing the front carpet, it's better to cut around the shifter and handbrake, than removing the entire assembly. When reinstalling, use velcro.

Carpet Weight:

Front: 12 lbs
Rear floor: 12 lbs
Rear seats: 8 lbs
GT3 Panel: 4 lbs
Struts cover: 2.5 lbs

I could not expect such a comprehensive and comprehensible answer.

Thanks a million for that and Happy Holydays to you and your family!

If you don't care about keeping the sound deadening, but also don't care about the glue residue, how hard is the carpet removal? I'm considering switching colors and putting in new sound insulation, so I don't really care if there is some glue residue, but I don't know how hard it is to remove...
