Default GT3 R8 ****

So my Dad has been kicking around getting a toy for a few years now... Always a car guy but never a huge sports car guy. I've had him do a couple DE's in my BMW and GT3 (last month).. He finally said "F-It" and swung for the fence.... I searched out and found him this... 09 R8. Absolutely Loaded, and Loaded with Carbon Fiber, Blades, Engine Bay, Interior!!... This car is Sooooo Sexy, and Bite the back of your hand beautiful..

Too refined and a bit numb for my taste drive wise as I love my GT3. But regardless, as car guys you have to bow to the lines, build, and engineering of an R8... More than perfect for him.

He picked it up yesterday in TX on his way home to OH he stopped here in GA for the day...

Our 2 machines together...

A seriously nice car that is quite fast indeed in the right hands. It does feel more "numb" to drive but the times speak for themselves. I know one person who has tracked the car a good bit and now has tranny issues. Pretty color combo.

nice car! (well, both of them )

I followed an R8 around Autobahn during a track day a few weeks ago, AWD just launches that car out of the corner. that said, the R8 driver gave me a point-by in less than a lap

btw, what color is your GT3? is that lapis blue?

Tell him to change the fluid in the R8 for track days. I swear the OEM fill is *water* in those cars.

That GT3 looks familiar but, so much cleaner than the one I remember.
Good taste seems to run in the family, nice.

Gregg,

My Dad is in Stow/Akron area..

If you've been to visit your brother I'm in the Windermere Community.

The yellow headlights are compliments of Laminex Film.

Very nice. Usable performance on the street. I think they've done quite well in racing as well IIRC from the latest evo article.

I really dig the video Ezra Dyer from Automobile made and posted.

Craig - Have you heard of issues with the gearbox failing without much track time on it? I was wondering if this was due to the gear oil they use?

Thanks

Erik Johnson
