does anybody have templates for the upper bumper fascia cut -outs for the 996 mk 2GT3RS radiator vents? If so, how would you suggest cutting and placing screens? I really don't want to buy a new bumper to add some holes

FYI Rennline plans to make a bumper vent kit for 996, similar to their 997 product. I'd prefer if they put the Cup vents over 2GT3RS, but that's just me. I dunno what they will end up doing.

does anybody have a template for cutting the RS top slots into the stock 2004 GT3 bumper cover? Also, I noticed when removing cover to clean radiators that my center radiator is already tilted back at the top, isn't this the RS radiator set-up?

thx, is your center radiator tilted back at the top? mine is and i am confused about this, was under the impression that this is the RS set-up, in fact, Manthey sells a tilt kit to convert to the RS set-up

996GT3RS has the same radiator configuration as the GT3. The openings are purely cosmetic on the bumper of the 6RS.

You need to tilt it forward with CUP spacers (or 1dollar tubes) so that hot air can escape from the holes.

If you are going to all the trouble of cutting the PU & canting the middle rad forward, you should really do the job properly & remove item 13 above to fit the full 996 GT2 radiator mounting kit & rear "chimney" to direct the hot air through the PU vents.

Doing it this way means that you can really feel the extra front downforce over about 120mph.

thx very much; btw if anyone else is going this route there are some nice lower mesh grilles available from Carnewal for the 996 mk11; they are precut with rubber air seal outlines which snap into the bumper fascia and allow you to remove the entire inlet edge piece on the bumper fascia You will also get to see the road debris which has found its way into your car

Not that easy to do it the right way if you want fully functional (Meaning radiator heat to escape out of top bumper vent and improve front end stability by sealing OEM radiator exhaust vents from under the front bottom of bumper skin). In short order you must:
1. If using OEM front bumper skin or RS bumper, you will have to plug lower venting (for radiator heat extraction) or simply install a OEM Cup bumper skin which does not have the lower vents.
2. Tilt the top of the center radiator @1-1.5" towards the front of the car using tube type spacer.
3. Rework/modify existing inlet ducting to fit repositioned radiator.
4. Optional: There is no ducting from outlet side of radiator to your newly cut bumper vents in which to direct radiator exhaust out of the top. My shop was able to fit and modify duct from a 996 GT2.

I assume one would need new radiator hoses since it is now tilted to the front by a couple of inches.. ?

Yes you need extensions or longer hoses, need to close the bottom holes but the GT2 duct is unnecessary; you can cut and shape the existing airduct.

I found a kit made my Manthey, but need to translate some German to order the damn thing!

The manthey "cooling kit" costs 270EUR for parts that really cost 27EUR..

It includes a paper outline.
3 pieces of plastic with rivets to close the bottom holes.
A mesh
Two extensions for the hoses.
Two pipes to tilt the rad
2 bolts
and 8 small collars.

Save your money and buy them from your local hardware store.
