Default 996 GT2 owners pictures thread

Popped in a cup car steering wheel today... fits me great as it brings it a little bit closer.

^sweet! and baller status going for the real PMS wheel
Have been thinking about doing the same, stock wheel feels great to me but a bit more extension would help
Cheers,

Yeah, the feel wasn't the issue, but bringing it closer/airbag was.

I'm kind of an auto electronics goon unless someone really spells it out for me -- so, no I didn't get the horn to work. BUT. I found this thread (https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...ng-photos.html) which specifics the extra wire adapter you need and where to put it.

I basically have it all plugged up except there's no juice going to horn, hah.

Also -- buy the $1.25 cable he lists and buy a $40 clock spring assembly on eBay so you can cannibalize the adapters (no cutting of OEM wiring for sure).

Sounds complicated, but after doing it once today, I'll probably redo the horn in about an hour when my parts come back in.

I bought it as a birthday self-present from Gert at Carnewal since the Euro's been taking a dip lately.

Wow that looks great ! did you have to do anything to keep the airbag light from going on ?
350 or 380mm wheel ?

Bought the kit from Carnewal.
Needs a resistor to trick airbag light. Also needs some extra bits I outlined above to get horn to work.

Did you get this wheel to be period correct? Just curious, because Carnewal also sells the 997 Cup wheel made by OMP. (with the same adapter)

Sort of. The 997 cup wheel is smaller (330) and has no dish. Need a quick disconnect or something to get closer to driver.

I'll update after a few laps, but I like everything about the 996 wheel -- the 997 does look cooler though.

Thanks Chris!
Gives the car some attitude and are about 10lbs lighter per wheel!
Cheers,
Rob
