Then another posting about new bits and pieces, namely a spacer/extender for steering wheel. My friend with the machine shop happened earlier this spring to ask from me if there would be a market for the spacer and would I need one....but of course! Because of my cage has this x-brace below the steering wheel/dashboard my knees are too close to it if I have my arms in the correct angle. If I have my legs comfortable I can't reach the wheel... I had planned few solutions, but this offer was a gift from heaven and I promised to test the prototype. After several twists and turns the proto was installed on last Monday and I really like it. It extends the steering wheel for 56 mm and is very solid. The proto in pictures leaves a gap between it and the steering wheel, but next ones are milled differently, without the gap.

Few more pics, I changed the looks a bit, added some aero parts and cleaned the car. Steering wheel extender is now the sales version, not the proto I used to have. Dive planes are Joe Toth's (Thanks Joe!) narrow ones in CF, do fit perfectly to mkI too. Attached with 3 M5 hex bolts to rivet nuts. Will not drop...high speed testing will be done next week in Germany. Nürburgring & Spa, here we come!

FYI for anybody wanting to fit cup suspension pieces and need rear spacers to lengthen the shock. The Toyota Tacoma from suspension lift or leveling spacers that are meant to go between the upper mount and the body work perfect for this purpose. So no need for custom spacer pieces. And the spacers can be had on eBay for $40-50. And if they will support a Tacoma, a 911 will be more than fine. Here is a link for an example. The pieces vary in thickness depending on the expect raise and are not linear. So a 2" lift spacer will be ~1.5". A 3/4" lift is .5". The lift capabilities are ranging from 3/4"-3".
