996GT3 for Sale Australia
http://www.carsales.com.au/private/d...SSE-AD-3551840
Started this morning at $129k and within an hour went to $149k! Thought that was a rather interesting way to kick things off. High mileage car, and a bit of an identity crisis in that it's a comfort spec done up as an RS stickers and some clubsport seats. Be interesting to see what it does as it's the only 1 on the market after the last lot were snapped up...I wonder how much pent up demand there is out there.

We will wait and see ,,,,as you said there are currently none up for sale on any of the major Australian car sales sites ,,,,,,6 months ago there was at least 8 to 10 cars on the market and prices were floating around $100 to $130 K depending on millage and spec ,,,all sold ,,,,,and prices rising rapidly .......one I will watch out of curiosity shame the owner has put all that crap on it ...........

Yes very interesting morning today, I was shocked to see the original asking price of 129k given the mileage, and then my jaw dropped once the price was amended. Obviously the phone was running hot at 129K. This car sold in the high 80s-low 90s less than 12 months back also.

Lol... glad you guys confirmed... Thought I saw it at $129k this morning... Was second guessing myself this afternoon...
Curious to see how keen the market is here. Saw a 997.2RS asking $425k late last week, wtf??? and the 996.2 RS at $325k currently... Surely people aren't burning that kind of money are they???

haha he has obviously noticed his phone is substantially quieter at 149K. IMHO I don't think the 325K asking price for the 996RS is unreasonable given what those cars are selling for in the UK. That car is seemingly being advertised to the world market and a UK dealer could negotiate a good deal, ship it back and make a hefty sum. Sad that Aus is losing what are already quite rare cars to other countries though.

Fair call on the 996RS although I can't see that price being paid here, much smarter to just list the car on UK sites...
The thing I find most hilarious is the 2 991gt3s being listed at prices a long way above the cost of a new car considering they can still be ordered. Surely avoiding a 3-4 month wait can't be worth a $50k premium and some ugly stickers...

I also feel the 996 RS price is valid ,,,world wide they are fetching big money due to the low production numbers produced ,,,,the seller states one of 10 Australian delivered cars ,,,,if I had the money I would pay it as I feel these will be a future collectable ,,,especially in right hand drive market.........
And I also do not understand the $50k price mark up on used low millage 991 GT3,s ,,,I would just wait 3 months and have exactly what I wanted in one ..........

Love to see if it sells... No doubt they are collectables overseas but I just don't think the average Porsche guy here appreciates the differences of GT cars enough just yet...

You have your ear to the ground! Car isn't marked as sold so I assume you have made an enquiry? I'd think if the WA car sold for $130k then the red car with less than half the klms would be a quick sale at $150k. Be interesting to see what a Clubsport would go for, and something with less than 30k klms on it too. It's a very good point you make re the insured values. What will you suggest? Based on advertised pricing you'd have to consider $150k minimum for now.
