Sport seats from GT3 worth anything?
#16
My dealer told me that when my GT3 comes in if I want to install GT3 seats he has a 996 owner who would like to upgrade to the sport seats that are stock in the GT3. I'm wondering whether it would be better to sell them (any idea what the current value might be?) or keep them for installation on any sale of the GT3. Today I'm inclined to keep them on the theory that there will be more GT3 buyers in the future who will want stock sports seats and there will be others who want GT3 seats, but maybe I'm just being lazy. Thoughts?

Only reason to keep them !
One reason to keep your factory sports seats: The SCCA is supposedly going to re-classify the GT3 as Super Stock (SS), from A Street Prepared (ASP). This would mean that for any potential SCCA autocross competitors, the car needs to be as delivered in the US with only US factory options. This means that those of us with ROW seats will have to stay in ASP. Some feel that the GT3 could be very competitive in SS, and that ASP is certainly much tougher, especially with the arrival of the Elise in ASP.

i have a pair of sports seats, fresh out of the GT3, never used,
i had my dealer install the clubsport package in my car before i even take delivery, (november 11/12th), after that, they will be kept at the dealer, thusly, never touched.
just about as mint as you can get.
they are:
no crest, black with black seatback. manual seats, no power adjustment. straight out of my new 05 GT3.
about to list on ebay for 2500 shipped. (this is apparently the price they are going for there).
take em now for
$2000 US Dollars shipped. (as per the previous deal mentioned earlier in this thread)
(continental US buyers only please)
(PM me)
please refer to: http://www.carnewal-europe.com/cpx_p96170.htm
3600 USD (not including shipping) from carnewal. so my price is not out of the question.
i consider gert a resonable guy, so if thats the price he's selling the new ones for, my 'swapped before even takin delivery' items, are a good deal.
regards to everyone
