Default What Is This Called And Why Is It Leaking??

Hi!
Had this beaut of a 996tt for a couple of months, and so far I'm not in jail! So that's the good news. The (note really) bad news its dribbling on my concrete, so I think I'll have to sell it.
What are these parts called and why are they leaking?

Seems to come from higher up.... You got turbos that are water cooled! There seem to be an oil leak and also coolant leak....Oil leak from the chain tensioner cover and coolant leak from joint between the elbow and the water pump housing.....Difficult to say...

The big black ring, besides the coolant pick up for the turbos, is only a protective cover and under that you got some seals that are easy to replace. That can fix the coolant leak that seems to be coming from this area. But you definitively have an oil leak coming from above.... This is only on the right side? Oil filler tube is just above this area on the right side, someone spill some oil while refilling ?

its most likley petosin from the power steering unit. either leaking line or spilled when filling. it eats rubber up. just forward are 2 allen bolts that hold the elbow on . remove it and replace the rubber oring you see

If its oil - you could have engine oil in the intake. I did and had this exact symptom. Shop drained & steam cleaned it and no more "wetness."

+2 on the power steering! When my car was converted to the GT2 slave, the back of the power steering unit had a very small and slow leak that ran down and would drip off of that exact same spot. This was noticed after the car sat in the garage after 3 weeks. Easy test would be to run your fingers along the seam where the 4 bolts are up top. This is how I was able to pin point my issue. Was an easy fix afterwards!

Ahahah, I have to stay humble with you guys that have hyper-modified cars!! I only work on "almost completely stock" cars and sometimes feel completely overwhelmed by some situations.... I did not mention the power steering leak because the protective ring seems not to be affected by the pentosin. Look at those two pictures of one being completely swollen and the one on op car seems to be normal.....

+4 pentosin from the power steering reservoir. I had exactly the same leak. Check the hose behind the PSR as well for damage from leaking pentosin.

I had a coolant leak showing up in the same area. On the car driver side engine coolant couplers were leaking. Had the engine dropped and coupling weld by BBI.
