Default Help needed (please!) with Bilstein/H&R issues

My turbo has about 60k miles and the front top mounts and bearings started to make noise, so while I was getting it changed, I went ahead and got Bilstein B8s and H&R Sports installed. The shop who did the work is reputable and has done a lot of quality work on my car in the past, including the daunting job of pulling the engine and welding my coolant lines.

The springs/coils are binding and buckling and getting caught on each with even slight movements of the wheel. I immediately brought the car back and my shop is perplexed by the binding. They even swapped out the B8s for B6s to see if that would help, and, apparently, it hasn't. I'm going in Tuesday to drive the car and take a look, but it's so upsetting.

The shop has made it clear that they want to fix the issue and aren't charging me to do so. But it's finally summer and my car is being an a**hole instead of being driven, like a good car should. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've attached two photos, but I don't know how helpful they are. Thanks very much in advanced.

I don't disagree. But it's what the manager was able to send me quickly before leaving for the weekend.

Thank you, guys. I've asked the shop if that could be it and will follow up once I know more. I really appreciate the responses and info.

The spring part number is correct for 996TT.

I would remove strut and try to turn top-hat around a little and see how it spins.. Also the tophat has an arrow pointing to front of car..

Ill be doing mine in the next few days so Ill see if anything can be pointed out as possibility..

There is a bearing in the top hat mount. if it is bad or not assembled right it will not turn and the spring will chatter as it slips on the rubber.

I agree the springs look correct ( hr reds ) albeit overly compressed ( they shouldn't be ) and that your issue will more than likely be caused by improper seating of the top mounts and resultant binding.

It looks like the top bearing mount is not there? You can see through the top coils to the mounting bolts through the fender??
Look at the pic in the link Crazy posted in post 5.

the top is the black piece at the top in the pics. the issue is the springs are completely compressed and it looks like the strut is compressed as well. the thread i posted shows a proper oem strut with hr springs

Thanks again everyone. Going in tomorrow, and I'll ask about top mounts and bearings (both new, so maybe an installation issue) and/or incorrectly labeled H&Rs. Definitely the right part number in the pic, but I wonder if the part number ever gets mis-stamped. It should be a pretty straight forward install — wheels and tires are stock, suspension is stock, apart from what we just did. So I think (and hope!) it has to be something simple.

I don't think they installed the bearing and upper spring mount back in. That's why the spring is offset in one pic.

Look at #13 and #14 in this link. This is a PSS10 install, but the upper mounts need to be like that.

https://www.rmeuropean.com/porsche-9...n-Install.aspx

They left out parts. That's why the strut cannot rotate around the axis.
