Default Met Hurley Haywood today

Got to meet Hurley Haywood today. My Turbo was custom ordered from his dealership back in the day and test driven by him. He remembered the car and the original owners name etc. Good to have a signature on the car now too (along with the sticker in the window).

Looks like he's wearing the same shorts from 2003 also.

That signature just added $5k to the car's BaT value

Judging by his attire he may be a corvette driver.

In all seriousness, Tim, that is very cool. And much respect for Mr. Haywood.

Default Brumos car also

Tim my '01 996 TT is a Brumos car also. I suppose it was a spec order for stock since it is a bright color with low options (sport seats with deviated stitching, full leather and a few others). I'm guessing it was a early order car so there is a good chance he would remember mine also.

I'm curious how many other 996TT's on the forum are "test driven by Hurley)?

Wow, that's a pretty cool little "value add" that cost a couple of bucks to do. Kudos to whoever in the marketing dept thought of that.

It would be cool if someone from Brumos chimed in and gave us the background on the sticker. Was it just a PDI mechanic pulling them randomly out of a box and sticking them on when he got them ready for sale, a detailer/wash bay employee , the salesman, or did Hurley actually drive them and were the stickers sequentially placed on the car in order of sales and logged somewhere?

Chris's car is 1042, mine is 2160 so the randomly placed on the car out of a box "theory" is most likely. My last six digits on the vin are 686541 but I am ignorant of how to decipher the build date.

I suspect that mine may be a trade in car, I have the window sticker from Brumos for resale at 21k miles when the car was 2yrs old and I assumed it was bought there new, now I have my doubts after seeing Chris's sticker. It makes more sense that it got put on when it was detailed for resale.

It's just a sticker and means nothing but its pretty cool to have on.

When I spoke with him he DID drive them. He remembered mine because of the PTS and the original owner bought LOTS of cars from them.

I got a new sticker about 8 months ago. My windshield got cracked. Called them and sent a picture of my VIN and they sent me a new sticker
