As far as the picture above is concerned, why in the world would someone abuse a perfectly good Porsche in such a way?[/QUOTE]

Love this thread! I sometimes think of what could replace my 996 Turbo... only to realize there’s not much point in switching. However I do look at potential replacements just for fun, and I can get funky.
I might get flack for this list, but like I mentioned, I have no intention of trading the pcar (no particular order):
-Ferrari 360 gated
-Ferrari California (I know no one loves this gt, but I dig it)
-2020 GR Supra
-2006-2012 Bentley Flying Spur (and go on a crazy road trip with the wife and son)
-2015 Porsche Macan Turbo
-2010-2014 Porsche Panamera Turbo
-2017 Porsche Panamera 4 ehybrid
-2002-2006 Acura NSX
-2013-2014 Nissan GTR
Yeah, those are some of the cars that tickle me... but not enough to switch!

Interested to see what other 996TT owners say as well. For what I use mine and for the money, I can’t think of another tempting car. What a great all-around, daily driver, street car.
At a much higher price, a 991.2 GT3 variant perhaps but will loose back seats. A 997 GT3 with rear seats retrofitted, but may loose some NVH/comfort for regular street use (so add noise insulation); also much more money. Singer at 10x price? Lol.

Three Wheelin'
I'm in a long-term relationship with my 996 Turbo. At 4.5 years of ownership, I've put about 13,000 miles on the ODO. If I never bought another sports car, I truly think this car can carry me another 20 years. I'm a father to a 4 and 6 year old (and old enough to be their grandfather) so life's super busy. I'm just looking to put more miles on the car whenever possible. Now that I've relocated across the Bay and the car is easier to get out of the garage (vs moving 2-3 cars) I'm just about at the point where i'm driving it 2-3x a week.

One of these is very tempting, might fit in well with the sledgehammer collection....

This is a video another friend of mine made of the car.

Love the Miata. Fell in love with the platform at Skip Barber race school. Not much power but in the twisties it’s up there with the best of them. I loved my 6TT, and my wandering eyes led me to switch it out for a 981 Spyder which I ordered and have put 20k miles on it since. Best sports car ever, and I have no desire to change it. Lifetime keeper car!
