Got to say this is an interesting project, even though I don't have a tip.
If you can afford it, I say go for it!

Moving my company to a new building soaked up all of my time in January. I've now got the worn out Tip safely on a good pallet and we are working out shipping.

They are working on a TBD (torque biasing diff). Quiafe does not make a true LSD if I’m not mistaken.
Unlike a gear style TBD, a limited slip differential (LSD) is a clutch style diff with full locking capability.
A TBD is a good budget alternative to a true LSD for a street car application. A clutch style LSD is what you will find in all Porsche Motorsport applications.

I loaded the donor Tip on the truck this morning so we'll see how long it takes to make it to Arizona.
I have heard Torsen type diffs called "ATB" as well. Some of them are set up with preload so they are closer to a clutch type LSD. This gets around the major problem with the ATB diff in that if one wheel is totally unloaded (in the air, for instance) that unloaded wheel gets all the torque.
I have a Peloquin ATB diff in my front wheel drive VW - clutch LSD's don't play well with FWD - and it's transformative. Without it the inside front tire would spin unmercifully under power in tight corners. Now both wheels pull hard, contributing to understeer, but still putting the power down. I ran this setup for years on track with great results. It cut 6 seconds off a 96 second lap just by letting me get on power earlier.

Just noticed this thread. I have 10 tiptronic TBDs on the shelf, that I made about ten years ago. Email gtgears@yahoo.con if you want to talk about them.
