Exclamation *996 & 997 Tiptronic - QUAIFE LSD Dev.- 30 Names Required

Im in the process of moving these two platforms of cars forward for everyone to benefit.

I have been in talks with Quaife about dveloping a LSD for the 996 & 997 Tiptronic platforms to benefit those with RWD and AWD.

The only reason the LSD has not been developed by this company is because they have said there is not enough demand .

I would need 30 unique names along with the financial ability to commit 50% of the purchase LSD price (£500 GBP) for them to develop an LSD.

This thread will be posted on the following sites;

911uk
Rennlist
6speed Online

On 996 ,997,996TT and 997TT sub categories

Consequently, please only write your name ONCE in the single thread you choose otherwise its becomes to complicated to count up the numbers.

Please copy and paste your list along with your number when you post.

Remember, you must be in the financial position to commit to this when Quiffe come knocking so please bare this in mind before posting otherwise it delays the whole process for everyone.

Quaife is a ATB type, which I think is also called torsen. It is not plate.

What is the status of this group buy?
There was a thread on facebook with a lot of interest regarding this but with Wavetrac. I don't mind either option but would rather not have to spend 3000€+ for the Drexler unit available.

I do not see this on 6speedonline, so I guess many have missed this.
Thread starter might think of that, or let us know if you want some help.

I linked this thread at a facebook 997 turbo/Gt2 group. Others please help as there has to be 30 people on this planet interested in a LSD option for their tiptronic turbo Porsche 911.

Is it the same differential in all tiptronic for 996 and 997? I.e., can the same base be used in all those variants?

our cars have an open differential. Exiting corners, power will go to whatever wheel is easiest to turn (the inside rear tire) resulting in the tire spinning, and psm limiting output to stop the spin. A LSD will limit the slip and push the power mechanically to the outside wheel. This allows for more power to the ground leaving a corner. It will also improve stability under straight line braking. Wavetrac and quaife I think are both torque biasing diffs, not true LSDs. Guard is a well known LSD company. I cannot speak to the finer points on this, but for people who don't go to the track, you will likely be happy with a wavetrac or quaife. However, in any motorsport application, everyone uses a real LSD like from guard. Hope that is helpful.

Additionally it would reduce understeer under acceleration a bit.
