Default '04 TT Windshield replacement with or with out built in tint strip on top??

Looking for some help. I need to replace the windshield on my '04 TT. It is the original windshield and I want to replace it with OEM glass.

When I talked to the glass shop, they told me the that OEM glass comes in all clear or with the slightly tinted sun blocker on top like I have now on the original one.

Any advise on which way to go? My gut says to keep it the same as what I have now although maybe it's dated as I don't see windshields that way anymore? You can see what it looks like now from the attached pictures.

Thanks for any advice.

you could say "dated" or "car and period correct".

go with the tint.

Often they buy them from the local Porsche dealer.

That's what I expected. I would find it odd if Safelite kept them in stock.

The independent glass installer I used a couple years back offered me a choice of an American made replacement or OEM German. I went with OEM. It wasn't significantly more expensive. They installed it the next day.

It is possible that Satellite or some other regional glass wholesaler does have some form of replacement in stock. At least in my area.

that safelite co told me they don't have them and the proper replacement process involves some "curing time" anyway.

so i'm still pitted.
