Washed Title
All,
l am looking at a low mileage Turbo, priced right, maybe to good. The dealer is small and something seems a bit off, not sure why. He is ok with a PPI. Clean Carfax, but they are not always correct. Porsche dealer and independent shops are within one hour. The car is 12 hours away but that is not a big deal, not my first Rodeo to drive it home.
Does anyone know how to do a title search to make sure it has not been altered or washed?
Cheers, Mat

The only ways I know to detect washing is by using CarFax and looking to see how many states the car was titled in and how frequently. If CarFax shows an accident or insurance claim and then the car is re-titled in another state soon after without being a true sale.

If you're already thinking this, buy another car. These cars are not hard to find, they're mass produced. Don't get the one you think has issues.

Here is a good article by carfax about wash title: https://www.carfax.com/press/resourc...-title-washing
If for any reason you are not comfortable with the deal, the best is the most obvious: Just walk away. There are tons of deals out there.

I think Seabrook has a line a super cheap one. Might be too good to pass up. There are still a few folks out there selling these cars way under market value.

Carlo is correct as usual.
And this is a Turbo S coupe, low mileage, manual, sunroof delete. Not many of these around that I know of.

I was inquiring about the same vehicle yesterday. Strange one for sure; sunroof delete and speed yellow seatbelts showing on the build sheet, yet the vehicle photos clearly show an open sunroof & black seat belts. Something not quite right with the story. Let us know if you uncover anything new about it

Turbo S Coupe, 2 built in '04, 598 built in '05. A rare model. Didn't they have PCCB brakes, X50 (?) Dash logo and a few other unique features. I had PPI's done on a couple of '05 S Cabs before I bought my '04 Cab.
