Battery Replacement -2005 TTS
I can tell my current agm battery is going to be in need of replacement soon. It's the original that came with the car when I bought it 5 years ago. So it's probably 7-8 years old. Slow cranking is a warning sign; that and 12.2v after sitting overnight. It only recharges to about 12.4v.
Other than the electronic recalibration when I replace the battery, is there anything else I will have to do?. I don't really care if I lose radio stations but will I have to re-enter any type of radio code to power it back on?
Lastly, I assume a tune is programmed into the eprom and there is no impact there, correct?

You will need to input your radio code and reset the one touch window control after the swap. Your tune should not be effected.
Some folks attach a battery charger to the leads so the car never loses power and then no need for the radio code.

Thanks. Glad I asked.
I'll go look for my radio code before I disconnect anything. It should be in the owner's manual.
If not, I'll find one of the devices that plug into the cigarette lighter. I'm not that high on reprogramming the one touch window either.

Trickle charger as mentioned when disconnecting and you should be good with minimal loss if any as was in my case .

Consider one of these:
https://rennlist.com/forums/996-turb...0-battery.html
I hadn't started my car until about a week ago since end of November.
The ATX-30 was dead, but a jump from one of their XP-10 mini packs got it going right away.
I've learned to just pop the engine lid before parking this car for more than a week or two so I don't have to monkey with the fuse starter thingamajigger

Good info.
I keep cars on chargers but I think my Diehard is dying. I left the charger off for two days as a final check and it’s down to 12.1v. I’m getting an Interstate battery tomorrow as replacement. I might as well replace it in the comfort of a garage rather than on the street.

If anyone is interested in Lightweight Lithium performance Batteries we have the most advance battery available on the market. It has Wireless Built-In Jump Starting so you would never be left stranded by a dead battery, or left unable to open your frunk. It also has full built in protections in a Battery Management system that will not allow the battery to ever get over-charged or over-discharged. So you get an 8-10 year lifespan. Last it wieght only 15lbs roughly saving about 35 lbs over the typical battery in your Turbos.

When changing your battery at home put the trickle charger on the negative chassis ground post on the forward bulkhead AND
attached to the positive terminal which is connected to the firewall bulkhead terminal>>connect it and remove your battery. No issues with your tune staying in the ECU.

Thanks guys. I got it swapped. Started right up. Jimmy Hendrix still plays. I’ll do the electronic recalibration, check the one touch window and go for a drive. Kevin I really think I should go confirm your tune still boosts to 1.1.

What is the 'one touch window calibration'?
I swapped out the battery awhile ago and did not do anything to the window, yet it still worked...(?)
