I think many of us would have preferred no sunroof...I never use it, on any of my cars.

Dock - no sunroof is very nice. Somehow I always end up buying cars with a sunroof and then never use them at all. In fact, I opened the panoramic roof on my Cayenne this week for the first time in at least 3 years. I'm a shorty so the headroom isn't an issue.
My TT is a cab so I get all the sunshine I want - owned since 2011 after owning an 01 TT coupe that was awesome and that I probably should have kept, but the cabrio seems to be a better fit for what I do with it anyway.

My second 911. The previous one was 1974 Targa. I bought this 996 TT 2002 in Melbourne Florida in 2008 and export it to Montreal. Everytime I open the garage door I got a big smile ;-)

Wow Dock, it's genuinely glowing. Fantastic colors...blue is def. my favorite color and there's lotsa blue on that car! I literally can barely imagine what it was like to take delivery of that car...
I've owned my 2002 Turbo for over 18 years.
After being on the 996 Turbo "order list" for about six months at Jim Ellis Porsche here in Atlanta, my turn finally came up and I spec'd my build in November 2001. The car was completed in December 2001 and I took delivery of my Polar Silver/Metropol Blue 996 Turbo with factory sunroof delete on January 9, 2002.
Here's my car sitting in the Jim Ellis Porsche showroom the evening I took delivery.

My sales guy bought a cheap Kodak pocket film camera and took pictures of my car from when the delivery truck drove up until my wife and I were ready to drive off that evening (he took the showroom picture with that camera.) I was at work all day and couldn't get to the dealership with my wife until later in the evening, so the car was sitting on the dealership floor when we got there. When it was time to drive home, the car was still sitting there in the center spot of the showroom, and I asked my sales guy if he needed to drive the car out the front doors and onto the lot (insurance angle.) He said "No, it's your car now and you need to enjoy driving it out." My wife and I got in the car and drove it out.
I took delivery of the previous Porsche I purchased from that dealership (another waiting list for that one before being able to spec/order the car) and decided to do all of the post delivery exterior/interior detailing on that car myself (I had to sign release form to do that.) It was rewarding, but a ton of work. For my 996 Turbo I spent time talking to and watching the dealership's head detailing guy do his work and decided to let him do the post-delivery detailing. He did an outstanding job detailing the entire car. It was absolutely beautiful.
And yes, the entire process of getting my 996 Turbo was a life additive process from start to finish. A "911 Turbo" had been my target ever since the first Turbo was released.

^ great pic! it's like having pics of your kids lol. that pic captures well the "glow" of the "polar/metropol" combo. my first 96t had that color combo as well and i loved it.. i never really got used to the blue(ish) carpet and leather, but it was in hindsight far more precious than my current and long term ( boring lol ) arctic/black specimen.

I've owned mine one day, or one month, depending on your definitions. Wired funds and signed paperwork at the end of Feb, but it just arrived yesterday.
Humbled to be in the presence of such veteran Turbo-philes.
