How long have you owned your Turbo?
The annual mileage thread was really interesting, so taking it a step further.
There's a thread (here) in the 6GT2/3 forum where Backmarker celebrated 10 years of GT3 ownership. I found it fascinating to see the number of long term owners who subsequently chimed in and started to wonder what the distribution for the 996 Turbo guys looks like. My guess is less 10+ year ownership (paging @Dock!).
Only one way to find out!

I bought mine 11/12. The night before thanksgiving. One drunken phone call from a bar, and two weeks later it was in my garage, had 9k miles at the time. Now it’s got 15k. Greatest automotive decision, or one of them for that matter. Love the car and the community!

although I joined Rennlist in 2009, a full 5 years before buying my Turbo, I'm only at 5.5 years of ownership.
But I had a helluva vision!

I've owned my 2002 Turbo for over 18 years.
After being on the 996 Turbo "order list" for about six months at Jim Ellis Porsche here in Atlanta, my turn finally came up and I spec'd my build in November 2001. The car was completed in December 2001 and I took delivery of my Polar Silver/Metropol Blue 996 Turbo with factory sunroof delete on January 9, 2002.
Here's my car sitting in the Jim Ellis Porsche showroom the evening I took delivery.

I didn't realize your car had a Metropol interior. Great choice. And I'm super jealous of your sunroof delete. I never use the sunroof in my cars and I would love to have the extra inch and a half of head room.

I ordered sunroof delete because I wanted the extra headroom, and because I liked the clean looks (interior and exterior.)

Nice @Dock and @wross996tt! There’s something to be said with having such ownership history with a car.
Like the sunroof delete. I’ve always had a roof rack on mine so sunroof doesn’t get used.
At 2-4 years, my current 996TT ownership has exceeded my average tenure and is still going strong. Up to $150K street car budget, 996TT is it for “supercar performance, everyday usability”.
