Out of storage today

my car sits so long these days, i dont even bother trying to use the remote. i take both keys and open the door with one - then re-insert both keys in the ignition to "re-activate" them.
just did a 60+ mile trip to get eggs and beer lol after it's been sitting on the ctek trickler for several weeks. car threw a "failure" cel for the coolant system which didn't "store" ( false code ) and then found also that the radio didn't work! checked the level in the exp tank ( all good - and its new ) and pulled and re-inserted the fuse for the radio ( c8 iirc? ) and all is good ( again ).
but this is exactly the kind of ***t that worries. me. of all the cars i have ever owned. this one tops the demands that it be DD"d as often as possible - or else!

Clever battery saving feature - I also set the alarm off the first time this happened by not turning the key the right way.

i believe that. but your car doesn't have 168k miles on it with me as the owner lol. the radio deal was a "quirk" and whenever it sits on the ctek for extended periods. the amp guage is almost PAST 14 when i drive the car under "no load" conditions. i think its gets "over" juiced" long term. plus i use the cig lighter adapter - for ease of operation.

That is the original one that came with the car - works well to this day.

I wonder how many of them still exist...

its funny as that's the only 996 turbo oem accessory i've ever seen and thought of as "vintage". hell, if i saw it at a swap meet, at first glance - i'd think it was an AM transistor radio lol. even the name of it is straight "jetson's" = "charge o mat". i love that ha

It weighs as much as an AM radio did...

i'd much rather have that one than the ctek 3300. plus i might be able to tune in the hits records of my youth.
i'm a bit anxiety driven just now about storing the car. i've had 7 911's and i've never once "stored" one or not had a garage.
a 911 parked outside with trickler or none, becomes a jeff foxworthy hillbilly joke, and i'm a'scared.
